Sorry guys but I for one am glad were leaving the EU, instead of sending billions to other countries we can invest that money in our own economy & Nhs & make Britain great again. Nigel Farage has already said the money won't be spent on the NHS, even though he actively promoted it would. This referendum has been corrupt from the start and I hope the petition people have started will make a difference.

Does anyone else think Brexit sounds like a very terrible breakfast cereal? You'd need a lot of sugar coating to swallow it! What has happened has happened. I've come off Facebook because it has turned into a (very) second rate House of Commons. I don't pretend to know the implications or benefits of what has happened today, but I'm sure we'll all find out in the coming two years. David Cameron himself said, before he changed his mind, that the UK would survive outside the EU because our economy is bouyant and other countries will not suddenly want to stop dealing with us. This was some time ago, things may have changed since then. The problem is, I find it hard to trust any politicians. The fact is, 52% of the largest voting turn-out since 1992 has voted we leave the EU. Are all those people really completely wrong and misguided in wanting this? I ask because I genuinely don't know.

Went to bed after 40 results were in, I couldn't see it going any other way than Leave. So when I checked at 7am to see we were out for sure, no surprise. I thought I would be shocked, but I'm not, just deeply saddened. And now Scotland have announced they want to have their own referendum again so they can leave the UK and it would seem stay with the EU.

god today is depressing me....
I am surrounded by people who have euphoria for the outcome.
where I feel there are no winners in this, I am not sure we will all be losers either but it will be a time of great change.
but I feel we need to call an election once new leaders have been chosen.
so for now I have to turn away, and let those who are in a position to change things do so. just stop with all the scaremongering, we can all still be friends right?.....well not with the French we never liked them, nor Switzerland they make crap chocolate, oh the Italians too cocky and whats with all that pasta, ok I could go on but silly jokes don't feel right today.

just stop with all the scaremongering, we can all still be friends right? The rest of Europe won't want to be friends with us anymore. Expect the EU to deliberately impose harsh laws on the UK to punish us.

just stop with all the scaremongering, we can all still be friends right?..... Well said. The decision has been made and we won't know how it affects us long-term, until we are in the long-term. It's up to our government now (whoever that is) to help these changes go smoothly, but more importantly fairly for everyone. Cheers Tony

Well if Scotland want there independence then let em have it if they don't want to be part of England nobody forcing them to stay, I'll even help build the wall for em, i may not always like my country but I'll always defend it, I'm British & proud of my country today for making this stand.
Our little island fought a power mad lunatic for 6 years so we can get through this change, we can decide our own future not be dictated too.
P.S, not having a dig at Scottish people but I'm very patriotic to my country & don't like Britain being looked down upon.
I'm of now to see Independence Day Resurgence.

You seem to be conflating England and Britain. The Scottish are as British as the English are. If Scotland leave The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, we will no longer be British (politically speaking) as Britain is short hand for Great Britain and Great Britain is the name for the entire island (and associated smaller islands). You will need to redefine your patriotism to fit the new reality.

This referendum has been corrupt from the start and I hope the petition people have started will make a difference. And know this exactly, have you your own landline into government politics? Farage said this morning he doesn't guarantee the promised £350million a week in the NHS. Handily he said it on national tv so burying your head in the sand is a rather odd position. I don't agree with Dalekbuster...well, almost ever, but he's 100% correct on that. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cA3XTYfzd1IOf course since Farage, Johnson, Gove and IDS ALL favour privatisation of the NHS, anyone with even a fundamental knowledge of politics would know that trusting people like that, now firmly the political elite, with the health service is like asking Cruella DeVille to walk your dog. The NHS also relies on net immigration to keep going which doesn't fit the "I love the NHS so I'll vote to leave the EU narrative." This is an incredibly dark day for the EU. Nye Bevan would turn over in his grave.

Would be interesting to see how a Scottish referendum vote would go now especially as better together claimed that Scotland would lose their eu status if we said yes.

I can attest to that. Was in France last weekend for a festival and a French man says to our group English scum. I go I'm Scottish. He then goes good people. Haha

David Cameron will go down in history as the man who saved the Union through luck, and destroyed it with his overconfidence, Scotland will definitely vote to leave, and I can't say I'd blame them (though I must admit, I largely voted for remain because it seemed the safest option, not because I really agree with the European project), Wales is too tied up with England and UK government funding to go it alone, but I think alot of them will be regretting that decision, as for N.Ireland and Gibraltar...
Of course the question we are all wondering is how this will effect Who in the long run, less license fee payers means less money, a move to right across England and Wales could mean austerity measures, budget cuts at the BBC, and a move towards privatization....
