Finished series 1 of Luther. Very intense and violent in a way that made me turn my head away during some scenes, but very good. The way it ended was not what I was expecting at all. I am kind of eager to start on series 2, but I can only watch it in small doses, cause of the violence.

Watched BBC's And Then There Were None mini-series. Pretty good adaption, great cast and more importantly it sticks close to the book ending. I did think at times the style overwhelmed the narrative and some historical inaccuracies bothered me (Vera's bathing suit was totally anachronistic) but overall I enjoyed it.
It's been awhile since I read the book but it was my first Agatha Christie so it holds a special place in my heart.
I was also impressed with Aidan Turner (I will not lie he is very easy on the eyes) so bought the first ep of Poldark off i-Tunes and if I like that (which I expect because it's historical) I'll buy the rest of the season.

I really want to see this. Did you pull it off the web or did BBC America decide to air it? I also thought Annette Badland was really nice. I was talking to her in the bathroom.

One that would interest, I think, almost everyone on the forum: Fables Of Forgotten Things It's a 15 minute pilot (that never got picked up) about a mysterious traveler and his young companion who try and reunite people with their happy memories. There's an evil spirit who steals memories against them. PAUL MCGANN plays the stranger and is absolutely wonderful. Just fantastically quiet, wizened and intriguing. The best bit? It's on Youtube! www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KlE1wwg8DE

Boewolf Return to the Shieldlands
Some dodgy CGI creatures but otherwise not bad.

I have mixed feelings on it myself but for different reasons than you. But I watched the first season and read the first two books because of its connection with Jamie/Frazer Hines. I guess you can say Jamie is kind of a Scottish stereotype too right? 100%, but Jamie's character comes from an interesting place - the BBC made a series called Culloden in 1964 and it was groundbreaking. It was a docu-drama before there was such a thing. It presented the battle as a news piece almost. It resurrected interest in the era and all of a sudden the romantic Jacobite was in-vogue again so Jamie was almost inevitable at that point. So while, yes, Jamie was a stereotype he was also taken from contemporary tv just as much as he was from history - or more likely Walter Scott's romantic notions of a highlander. If you really want the cat amongst the pigeons, Jamie would never have been fighting as a Jacobite - he would have been fighting against them along with the English as the McCrimmons (who were indeed master pipers) were part of the MacLeod clan who supported the Hannoverians against Charles Stuart/Bonnie Prince Charlie, Yesterday my brother told me our Macleod ancestry is not from the Lewis branch but the other. you're right in the US we don't learn much Scottish history in school, but our dad told us some about it. Don't know how I feel.about what sidethey were on! But hey, I could be related to Jamie MacCrimmon!

Watching an episode of the Librarians where they meet Dorian Gray. in this season they are dealing with fictional characters that have come into the real world. What's interesting is that in this episode Dorian is real, like in BF.

Watched the first two episodes of Poldark...a bit of a historical soap but I enjoyed it a lot. Everyone needs their guilty pleasures.
Not sure what is more pretty Aidan Turner or the Cornish coast.
I may go and check out the novel series.

Eastenders, I'm finding Staceys bipolar story upsetting but brilliantly acted by Lacey Turner.
Silent Witness part 2, brilliant.

The latest Teen Wolf episode. We need answers about the Dread Doctors and the Chimeras, no more questions or dragging the story out. Meanwhile we also have the Desert Wolf in the wings and whatever is happening with Kira. I kind of miss the 12 episode season, at least the pacing was better because it wasn't stretched out over 20 episodes.
