It's a Stephen King, The Stand reference, the superflu that ended the world was nicknamed captain trips.
I caught the bug on Christmas, and called in sick 4 days, I gotta be sick to miss work and that don't always stop me, had a fever of 102.9 at one time, and I was seeing things I knew wasn't there, so I figured id sit out that night, and it turned into 4. Anyway, got rid of it, I thought before New Year's but I thought I caught a sinus infection.
Dr gave me a steroid shot, an antibacterial shot and a round of antibiotics, then another 5 day supply and I still got it a week after all those are gone.
Anybody else have this crud? I didn't know a person's nose would hold that much mucus.

I haven't had the flu yet but I've had the typical cold.

No flu for me. I get the flu shot every year so I hopeI don't get it.
I did get 2 colds this year almost 1 after the other. Hoping I am done for the year especially since I'll be traveling soon.

I got a flu shot. First year I got the flu after the shot. It's bad enough round here to where the school's are being shut down for a week

I don't think I've ever had the flu and I rarely get colds, I can't even remember the last night I was properly ill.
I have read The Stand several times though, one of my favourite books.
