I was lookin at the fourth doctor series 7 and went thru the subscription process, and with the 2 sets, it's 12 bucks and change for shipping. I thought, THATS A GREAT DEAL! That means the whole series will set me back less than 70. Much better than it has been. Yes, ill be subscribing to that one. Well, I wanted to see the new main range titles and went thru the process, and it was 74 bucks and change. That's for new monthly releases, so id have to pay monthly for shipping. UM NO! I wont be subscribing to those. BF switching MR releases to box sets will work out great for me, and ill be able to afford to subscribe to them, 4 times a year would be ok, 3 times a year would be better. Either way, it cant get here soon enough.

A good idea for the monthly range sub would be that you get access to the downloads as per usual, but have the choice to wait until the final, or sixth release in the sub is released and then send six or twelve CDs at once. This would reduce the shipping cost and be less work for the wonderful ladies who package and send out the CDs. If you're someone who prefers the CDs and willing to pay postage for each release in the sub, then you've got that choice while those who like the CD but are willing to wait while the download can tide you over in the meantime (or a blank CD with the mp3 tracks burned on) can spend less money on the same amount of product.

Can I do that on the subscription process, or do I need to contact them to have them do that? I could go for 12-15 for shipping the whole run. Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help It's a hypothetical idea to improve the subscription process, and isn't what Big Finish are doing at the moment as far as I know. Might be worth asking Nick in the podcast. Despite the higher administrative attention, it would help to address the postage issue and I can live with not getting a physical copy of Vortex.

I've worked out the math and it's cheaper for me to get a digital subscription through Big Finish for the next six Torchwood releases and get the CDs from a third party than it is to get a regular CD subscription through Big Finish.

Is that for both? What I mean is, will you pay less and still get the cd's?

Book Depository is awesome. I've received a few items where the packaging was a little damaged, but not the contents. Twice items have been victim to Canada Post's black hole and BD has very quickly sent replacements.

Book Depository is great but make sure to sign up to get an alert when the item is available and buy right away. I got an alert that they had a Main Range title for 10 bucks and change and when I went to go buy it later that day the price had jumped to 24 bucks and change. You can also pre-order via Amazon and since Book Depository is a Amazon owned company those same discounted prices are generally the same price on Amazon. Another option, especially for box sets is Book Depository US via Amazon Marketplace.
