I'd certainly be happy to work for them after university, especially if they did what some companies do and offer a graduate video editing job position, perhaps editing interviews for their YouTube channel (I enjoy video editing - I have Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects on my laptop).
So what do you think? Do you think Big Finish will one day have job positions available? Would you work for them?

I'm not creative, so I wouldn't, but I think I could help their marketing in America. I think Jago & Litefoot would be huge over here with truckers, cause of the humor, and the way truckers like vintage story settings. I would lobby for BF to hire you dalekbuster523finish cause you think outside the box. You have to be reeled in sometimes, but it's easy to reel somebody in, what is hard to do is teach them how to expand their thoughts in a myriad of ways.

I would agree with you that I need to be reeled in sometimes but it's nice to see someone comment positively about my unusual ideas.

I doubt very much if BF would be hiring any time soon, for the jobs you would like, unless of course you are offering your services for free.
But no harm in trying & keeping your hopes alive in the dark & dismal realm of work!

Do you think Big Finish will one day have job positions abailable? It costs nothing to ask. When you finish University send BF an e-mail with your skills and CV. Some companies like to take a chance on new talent, some don't. The worst thing that BF can say is No Thanks, in which case send your CV off to other companies that do what you would like to do. If BF did give you a job, they might not like you ringing David Tennant every day to cajole him in to doing another Tenth Doctor box-set though... so you might need to reel that bit of your enthusiam back a bit! Good luck!

True. I wouldn't want to upset my favourite Doctor anyway.

If you like your fantastical vintage adventure with bags of humour that lends itself with Dickens' 'The Old Curiosity Shop', Jules Verne's 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' and H.G. Wells 'The War of the Worlds' and 'The Time Machine' then may I suggest you give BBC Radio 4's hilarious comedy 'Bleak Expectations' a go. YouTube has most, if not all five series of 'Bleak Expectations' available to listen to. 'Robot Santa Claus' (excerpt) Sourquill tries out his festive invention... with disastrous consequences. >> www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p012m78p www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00cwgs6

Stevo pretty said it best, so I'll just say don't pin your hopes on one thing: send out your CV to mutilple places, get as much work experience as you can and hold onto any contacts you make.

They are looking for a sound design person...
It was on the podcast about a month ago...
And a marketing person last year.
It was in the website

Never hurts to ask. Submit your CV, the worst they can say is they're not looking for anyone (The old "no plans" conundrum) and you look elsewhere. Just keep an eye out.

They are a company...and a company has employees. Of course they will need new staff at some point!
No harm in trying!

They have very few employees and like a lot of small firms tend to hire people based on personal knowledge (as far as I can tell). They don't do internships or apprenticeships (too small) as far as I can tell. Most people work for them on a project by project basis.
As Tin Dog said they want some skills here and there, and ask for a portfolio. It's not a reflection on the skills of graduates, more that Big Finish can't take risks on quality or on delays while they train people.
Of course things can change!
