I get far to attached to enjoy pets, I worry about them constantly, I currently have a budgie, he's 8 now and spends hours sitting with me talking and cuddling. He is very clever (for a little bird), shares my breakfast each morning, brings me any of his large feathers that fall out, alerts me if anyone comes to the door or postman has delivered the post.......and so much more. But the slightest sign he is unwell I am like a bear with a sore head, I lost a stone worrying last year when he was poorly & sat up with him all night for almost a week. Thankfully he pulled through, not sure I have yet....hehehe I know I am stupid cannot help it though, so pip has to be my last pet, I just don't think I can take the stress anymore, but am not I any hurry to lose my little friend just yet.
I am not keen on dogs, they never really take to me but cats seem to adopt me as their local takeaway! They know, show me a sad face or a bit of affection and I will be saving them half my dinner...shredding chicken, chopping steak, flaking fish & even buying cat treats.....just on the off chance they may might just call.

Neither. Oh, I get along fine with both. But (a) I grew up on a farm with some working dogs and dogs as pets annoys me, and a bunch of outdoor farm cats who kept vermin down, and (b) These days I live by myself in the city and travel a lot. So I'm not going to get a faux child that never grows up because I'd be constantly using a kennel service or pestering friends.
I have a cactus. He's called Henry.

Dogs, cats always seemed kinda sneaky and lazy (not that our current dog isn't!) and I've never really warmed to them.

I'm definitely dog person Sadly, my beloved Boxer, Mitsy passed away last Summer and I miss her dearly every day. Even typing this short sentence brings a lump to the throat as it reaffirms that she's gone. I've owned quite a few dogs down the line but Mitsy was the most lovable of all but also the goofiest.

I don't mind dogs, but I will never own one.
Cats are the best - even if they are always trying to kill us.

Dog lover.
Cat hater.
Love dogs' eternal optimisim. The way their ears always prick up at the slightest thing. To me they are always hopeful they are getting a walk or somethong to eat and they are always upifting when i am feeling down.
Cats strike me as inherently untrustworthy and unhygienic. I dislike eating at a house with a pet cat as i always imagine the cat has been walking all over the surfaces in the kitchen.
Apologies to cat lovers.

Gorgeous dog. Sorry for your loss. Thank you, that means so much to me. She was so friendly to young and old and adored by our neighbours, so much so, that when she died we received two sympathy cards from two households and another one from a guy that runs a hot dog stall we would pass on the promenade on our way to the beach (living in a coastal resort town), sometimes we'd catch him as he closed-up for the day and he adored her too, saving a sausage for her in case we went by. I had never received sympathy cards for a pet before and was quite taken aback with the gestures.

She was a gorgeous girl based on that pic. Very sorry she had to go, Doomlord, but happy that she lived around people that adored her.

Hello again.
Hamsters...Houdini, late of this parish would regularly make a mockery of any cage that tried to contain him. His favourite hideyhole was the piano.
Then there was Cheese Puff a large ball of amiable fluff that liked to nibble various items of fruit and veg.
Our final hamster, Ninja, used to hang from the bars of his cage and then move across the top of the cage like a marine on the monkey bars.
Our current rascally rodents are Quincie and Cinnabun who happen to be rabbits. No more after this, as we will probably be still looking after them when our children leave home!
We have also had a rented cat, fish, chickens including one called Madame Poulet who survived an aerial attack from a peregrine falcon, (I kiddeth ye not) and our laid back doggy dustbin Kipper who is also my furry alarm clock.
