Just got in from smoking and pettin my dog. Buddy, or as he was called in the pound, Andre the Giant, an overgrowed baby, is what he is.
Anyway, are you a dog person, or a cat person, or both? I guess I'm both, cause I, well, my wife has 3 cats, and at one time we had a dozen. yeah, a dozen. I cant leave a stray animal alone, I'm a sucker I guess.
Or are you a lizard person, or a bird person, or a turtle person, or a person who stands animals but just doesn't want any pets?
I don't know the breed of our cats, but Buddy is a mutt, i always thought mutt's made the best and most loyal dogs, but that's just me, cause I'm a mutt.

I like dogs, love cats, but would describe myself very much as a lizard person. Here's why: meet my mate Dave ...

Well ive had a variety of cats over the years but have recently converted to the dog side. My dog is cat sized, so curls up on me like a cat, but is just so much more easy to handle. I never could have taken the cat for a car ride or taken it for a walk so i could listen to Big Finish. And at the risk of being crude, my dog is more house trained than any cat I ever owned.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Cats. So much cats. Always preferred cats even after growing up with dogs. They don't need to go out to go to the bathroom, they tend to be sweeter than dogs because you work for their affections, they're hilarious, and it's been scientifically proven that cats have a healing touch.

Dogs. I have a severe allergy to cats so there's only one answer. This is our westie at the groomers last year. She stays clean for about 10 minutes afterwards then manages to be dirty and scruffy again. Attachment Deleted

Either or. Have had both in the past and have sometimes fostered, but as of right now we have 2 dogs, A Golden Retriever and a Gigantic beast of a dog that we suspect is a Great Dane cross.

I love playing with other people's dogs, but only cats for me. Dogs are also much more work. Don't have to walk a cat, don't have to take it outside everytime it wants to relieve itself, etc.
Cats are much lower maintenance, and if you put the time and attention in, and they treat you just as affectionately as a dog. Our current cat follows me around the house the whole day. When I'm working out of my home office, she's on a second chair right next to me, or sitting behind me, or curled up on one of my two desks. I have a sneaking suspicion that when people tell stories of having cats from hell, the cat either was abused, had some kind of serious brain damage/etc, or, mainly, they expected it to automatically love them (much like your average dog will).
My family always had cats, and they were always nice to me....but then I'd follow them around and play with them, pet them, etc. They even took in an abused stray. I was the only one who could pick him up, let alone pat him regularly.
We got our current and only cat from a friend who moved to NYC, in a building that didn't allow pets. He'd named her "Persphone" but called her "cat." We called her "kitty", but I decided to upgrade her to "The Kitty", as an honorific. She's the nicest animal ever.

We love our cats, we had two pregnancies from a stray that decided to stay with us, resulting in something like a dozen kittens all up? We kept the mother and two from the first brood, they're lovely little bundles of wonder. The biggest of the three looks like a green-eyed panther and lazes around quite a lot, the smallest is a fierce little hunter and their mother doesn't take crap from nobody. Names were a bit Breakfast at Tiffany's for a while and still are in some ways. We love our adorable little sweethearts.

Ah, of course. Every upstanding keyboard dog should have their own human.

Either, I love them all and have had both in the past, but I've had more cats than dogs. Mostly because it's harder to have dogs when you work long days. I don't have any animals right now. My last cat passed away about 4 years ago. He was about 17 when he died.

Family have always had both, generally a few of each at any one time. As much as I like cats, I prefer dogs. The bigger the better. A dog should be tall enough so you don't have to bend down to pet it. If you want a rat, buy a rat!
I start volunteering at the local RSPCA next weekend so hoping to play with both cats and dogs.
Cheers
Tony

There's no way to directly upload images from one's computer, is there?

There's no way to directly upload images from one's computer, is there? yes you can. Choose add attachment. You have to go to be in the main posting window (the one where you can change fonts etc). It's on the right hand side of that window. Cheers Tony

Please give me a moment to go bang my head on the wall. Thanks, now I see it........right there, out in the open. The Kitty, in a sink, collapsing, and generally failing to hide. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Oh, right, so, all these are in an older apartment. One time, when she was around 3, she actually wrapped herself in a circle around what she is sitting on in this picture (I'm guessing there used to be glass or something there...it's near the top of an entrance to a very narrow kitchen), attacking her own tail (and not falling off, somehow). Couldn't get the camera in time. She'd recovered by the time I got it ready, acting like nothing happened:

Well, my current dogs are quite quirky. The Golden Retriever, who's name is Sage, for one is the shyest most interpreted dog you could meet, but if you give a few treats, she won't ever leave you as she has the biggest tummy love on the planet, and the Ox(as we call her), her name being millie, likes to take all the sheets she find and uses her paws and hind legs to roll them in a ball and the fling it around, it is quite a sight to see.
