Would geek culture be better without the internet?
On the one hand, our perspective has been broadened. More and more people have been accepted and the experience has become richer. On the otherhand, there's the dark carefully calculated whispherings of the Alt-Right/Neo Nazis into teenage ears who don't have the life experience to question what's been parted. And yes, there's always a pushback, I get that, but I can't help but see there's an ugly toxicity emerging in geek culture that might never ever shift. It has power. And influence. And that's terrifying.
And I'm not denying that social justice discussion on the internet sometimes doesn't rear into the ridiclious and battles need to be picked. I understand that.
