Hey guys,
I have recently got into Blake's 7 and am watching it from the beginning. In my stupidity I never realised before now the amount of stuff big finish has of Blake's 7 audios, I just have a few questions.
At what point in the series can I listen to the audios and they make sense?
What are the best audios to begin with?
And what is the basic timeline of the TV episodes and the audios?
I know you've probably had to answer these questions before but would be much appreciated. Thanks guys đ

Ideally the only audio you SHOULD listen to while watching is, IMO, Warship. Just slot that in between Series B and C. Then finish watching the show, then come back and listen. You may as well start at the start with the Liberator Chronicles if you're picking that route, and then go for the full cast option, especially as one or two bits of continuity start in the LCs and end up in the full cast.

With the exception of Warship (which I listened to between my first watch of series 2 and 3), I listened to them in order of release. Keep in mind that you should NOT listen to Warship's extras, as they contain major spoilers.

Apart from Warship, the only other suggestion I'd make is perhaps checking out Liberator Chronicles volume 6, a trio of stories which, much like Warship, fills in some loose ends rather nicely, that the show never really got to. From memory they slot in after the first two episodes of series c/3, so after Aftermath and Powerplay. Or at least Incentive does. The other two you could probably debate, but I'd still personally listen to them after Incentive as well. Or if you want to retain the mystery, and not find out what happened with certain characters, perhaps prior to the final episode of series d/4, Blake.
Everything else I'd just listen to after you've finished the show itself, personally.
Happy viewing/listening.

Oh, good point!! But when can the Warship extras be listened to? After you've finished the series That might be a good rule of thumb for the Blake's 7 extras in general. The series has some really heady (what J. Michael Straczynski called) "Wham!" episodes that work extremely well going in blind.

Thereâs a horror movie called Alien? Thatâs really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I know you've probably had to answer these questions before but would be much appreciated. Thanks guys đ I'd watch the whole show before listening to the audios, myself... but the audios will start to make some sense after about the end of Series C, since there are no Series D audios (apart from one on LC 6, as mentioned above) I'd agree with other comments that Warship is best listened to between Series B and C (I did it that way on a rewatch a couple years ago and it was BRILLIANT). The first full-cast audios are also a good jumping on point as you really only need to have watched at least as far as Trial to get the most out of them. In terms of timelines, there's other threads in this section of the site that deal with that but the Liberator Chronicles are scattered all across the series (however, number 4, Armageddon Storm, takes place late in Series C, as does the second series of full-cast audios and I'd say they'd be safe to listen to after you've watched Rumours Of Death) so you're best advised to run through them with caution if you haven't watched the show in its entirety. But that's just me. T

I watched the whole show before starting on the audios. Then I listened to the audios in more or less chronological order by release date.

It looks to me like the Liberator Chronicles were planned with a repeating ABC pattern so 1, 4, 7 and 10 tie in with series A 2, 5, 8 and 11 tie in with series B and 3, 6, 9 and 12 tie in with series C (or D)

Thanks guys for all the advise. I've just started Series B so I think I'll do what everyone says and listen to warship when I get to the end of the series. I'll also listen to the standalone liberator chronicles 'remenants' when I finish episode 4 as other people say it goes there and is a nice taster of the chronicles format

Sorry for all the questions but what would people favourite audio Blakes 7 release be, or which are the most exciting? Warship, Armageddon Storm and the three episodes of A Rebellion Reborn would be my humble submissions.

Sorry for all the questions but what would people favourite audio Blakes 7 release be, or which are the most exciting? The LC arc in releases 3, 9, and 12 is amazing. Also, The Turing Test, Spoils, and Remnants are some standalone standouts.

I am a newbie as far as Blake's 7 is concerned. I've managed to borrow the first series of the show and planning to watch it in the near future. And then.. we all can predict what that will lead to...

I'm almost mid-way through the show. 2 more episodes to go in series 2. Honestly, I feel series 2 is dragging a bit, the first series was so much more interesting.Probably it's just me who feels so. How about the third series?

How about the third series? There's a lot of people who love Series C because it has so many great episodes in it. I am not one of those people. I love the narrative arcs that run through the first, second and last series but the third feels quite a throwback in that it is almost entirely episodic. But there are some absolute crackers in there so I'd stick with it. Series A feels like a novel, what with all the plotlines and stories running together. I love it. In terms of Series B, stick with it: the second last episode, The Keeper, is a bit hit-and-miss in a lot of places but the last episode, Star One, is one of my favourite pieces of television in existence. But no pressure...

I don't generally abandon a show unless I find it unbearable and this is certainly not in that category I loved series A, so in comparison was a bit disappointed with this one.
