If you had 1 chance to ask 1 question to anyone within Big Finish and guaranteed a complete honest answer, what would that be?
I know what I would ask.

Actually have 3 for now.
What was it that finally triggered the "we are closing the BF forum". what was the final straw?
Was Tom and his ex wife together in the same room interacting when they recorded there audios?
Do you generally get frustrated with some of the comments/feedback that are left on msg boards, the fb page, twitter etc?

Do you generally get frustrated with some of the comments/feedback that are left on msg boards, the fb page, twitter etc? 1. Someone at the BBC got wind that some talk on the Forums was critical of the TV show and they reminded BF that they were business partners and negative perceptions could jeopardise it.
2. Not yet (Jane Slavin reads in)
3. Yes generally there's 3 themes on Social Media
a. BF is great but it should be cheaper.
b. More Tennant!
c. TW should be on TV!

What are your sources for these answers? If 1 is true, then that person at the BBC is a jerk who completely fails to understand the internet, forums or that the BBC websites own comment section is full of critical comments on the BBC.

How much longer do we have to wait for a Third Doctor & UNIT adventure with the old team back in action: The Doctor, Jo, Captain Yates and Sgt. Benton? (Sadly, the Brig. would have to be busy in Geneva, but he could still get various mentions.)

Ian (apparently Nick and Jason got an E-mail or phone call from someone at the BBC and the gist was "resolve these negative comments or we re-think your licence" so they took the Scorch Earth approach and shut it down.
2. They travel to where TB lives and record, they record LW elsewhere several Podcasts have said so.

Seriously, whoever that someone was, was an idiot, although it does explain BF's actions, in so much as they dumped us with what was a basically a punch to the gut and kick in the nuts. But I just can't but keep coming back to what a total jerk who entirely fails to understand internet, forums etc, or grasp the hypocrisy of such a thing coming from the BBC.

So Big Finish are supposed to control their listeners? That makes very little sense. Is this just Hearsay?

If that is true about the BBC Dick essentially threatening to take away the licence because of peoples comments, im surprised they havent taken down the Doctor Who Youtube channel lol

1. Someone at the BBC got wind that some talk on the Forums was critical of the TV show and they reminded BF that they were business partners and negative perceptions could jeopardise it.
also Joe (i wonder what happened to him) said it was taking two to three hours a day to field off all the spam and violation reports which were mostly on non big finish related topics. they were at big finish day and the monitoring was just overwhelming and with the TV show returning they just did not have the resources so decided to suspend it then eventually close it.

Tbh r.e the BF forum, I think things have worked out for the best, we have a very nice community going here and we can discuss the positives/negatives of Who (both audio and visual) freely without negatively effecting BF's relationship with the BBC or using up any of the small pool of staff's time, we haven't had any major spamming attacks and it seems none of the nuttier members from the old forum/others have followed us here.

I think that "nuttier" elements have been controlled via the joint mechanism of our rules, and the moderation team. When I was part of the moderation team, we spent a lot of time discussing rules that allowed and encouraged people to express themselves, but equally stopped them from using that expression to beat on people or subjects. It always struck me as odd that there were no rules for the BF forum and they refused time and time again to appoint community moderators, in that respect, BF made a rod for their own back.

Well current dealings with the BBC don't make much better sense look at the Jenny Boxset situation one of the writers talked to the Radio Times, the Actor's confirmed on their Twitter, and BF official response is to ignore it because they haven't had clearance from the BBC to confirm it.

It always struck me as odd that there were no rules for the BF forum and they refused time and time again to appoint community moderators, in that respect, BF made a rod for their own back. I joined the Bf forum around a year before it shut and only had a handful of posts so perhaps I didn't see enough of the forum to judge things properly (being a newbie to audio drama/BF at the time...I still am in some respects!) but given BF's close relationship with the Cardiff team and small company size, I did find it slightly perplexing members were given more or less free reign to talk/moan/complain about Who with little to no moderation, obviously the BF team had limited time they could devote to the forum, but I found the behavior of some of the posters there rather cringe worthy and cynical, taking the forum/BF team for granted and often crapping/ranting on the franchise they claimed to love with little thought for other opinions or maturity, I wasn't surprised when it was shut, and I think it was perhaps the best for all concerned, the hardcore fans who want to talk about BF online with others in a mature manner have found other places (such as here) those who merely wanted to vent and argue have thankfully buggered off somewhere else, and it gives BF more time focus on the main job.

When is the ''The Big Finish Lunches: The Inside Story'' book going to get released? Also: Will they ever be able to/consider making 8th Doctor audios with Grace and Chang Lee as companions? (though I wouldn't say no to more Fitz/Mary Shelley stories...) Assuming that they are able to negotiate the rights to the 12th Doctor era, could you please please try to do so as soon as possible? Have any of the staff actually listened to all the releases?
