I haven't wanted to get this out of spite because of Nick's incessant advertisement of it but is it worth the $20?

I watched one or two of 'The Prisoner' way back when just to try it, but it never held my interest. It's a strange feeling not to be even slightly tempted by what is clearly a very good discount for what I'm sure is a high-quality product, but there we are.
I am a number and a free man...
(Though my user name is inspired by a ghost story by M.R.James, not by 'The Prisoner'!)

Yes, buy this and listen to it. It is good. I was happy enough to get it on initial release, despite my only memory of the original series was "large balloon chasing someone" found during channel surfing long ago. I recently watched the original series, but only after having listened to both new series from BF. (and I doubt I would have watched it otherwise)

Shame on you number13 ... and you claim to be addicted to BF? ?? Cheers Number As proof of my BF addiction, I'm just starting my journey through 'Counter-Measures' which I splurge-bought in the recent sale based purely on the synopses and the authors. And on the recommendations of DUers, especially @brians and your good self! Now I've got 5 box sets plus the 2 other stories to devour before the next set comes out in December... Three episodes into set 1 and loving it!

It's a strange feeling not to be even slightly tempted by what is clearly a very good discount for what I'm sure is a high-quality product, but there we are. The TV series was a big deal with me for about the first three episodes when it first aired in my neighborhood long ago, but I did manage to start thinking it wasn't going anywhere (or that it couldn't actually) and lost interest that I've never been able to rekindle. However, as a Big Finish series it's likely to be quite good, there are new possibilities, and it's not a hard range to catch up with at this point, so I bought both volumes last week after deciding I can just skip reconnecting with the TV series and connect with it as an acclaimed audio series instead. A great time to buy the first volume and give it a try, I just paid almost twice that price for it. Haven't heard it yet but I doubt very much I'll regret it.

Be Seeing You ... Tony There's a logical reason for the sale. It's not a range I'm interested in so I'm not buying it. If someone is interested, I'm not going to try influence their opinion.

I have finally purchased Series 1. I was planning on buying some Benny, but that will have to wait until next week. After two years of wanting this, I can finally listen!

I'v also got both volumes of the Big Finish Companion.

Don't you mean a Seventh Doctor and Charley story? So that's what my posts look like when they don't say "edited by" at the bottom... Indeed I did mean Charley, thanks.
