Have to say it's quite an impressive way to finish your DW career. Makes you wonder what happened to cause it.
Cheers

Cheers Tony Could it possibly have something to do with the recent change of editors at DWM? That seems to have been the only thing that has changed at the magazine recently. Some speculation was it was something to do with the Shada DVD, but why bring Panini into it if it was that?

When I was in my first job, working answering customer complaint letters at John Lewis, one of my co-workers was fired for EXACTLY the same thing. So Nick was exactly as clever as a lowly paid 19 year old.. working part time for beer money. Facile thing to do. Even more facile way to do it.

Still, he's effectively ended his career so I hope it was worth it. As for Bruno Langley, in law he's innocent until proven guilty but I do wonder what will happen with regards to the Ninth Doctor Chronicles if he is found guilty. Cheers Tony

Also, I know that stcoop isn't suggesting anything of the sort but what Nick has done and what Bruno Langley has been accused of doing are quite different things. One was a prat, one potentially a criminal. Mentioning Bruno in the OP isn't, I'm sure, intended to equate the issues.

The Shada DVD was announced at the same time Worldwide contacted Clayton Hickman to say they didn't want the DVD artwork they commissioned him to do for it
so some people might have similar sentiments.

Nick has deleted his Twitter.
Either avoiding a wave of hate, or perhaps more worryingly a sign that's he's having some kind of break down.

It is a facile thing to do, but I am reminded of my battles with depression, and one thing I realised is as I got more and more depressed and felt more and more of my life getting out of control I would focus on and blame someone, it would become all their fault, everything, they caused it, they were doing it to me, then one day I had a moment of epiphany when I realised that something I was blaming someone for was something that they were not even capable of being associated with it, let alone the cause of it, and then as I followed that thought it hit me like wall, they just were not to blame for the stuff, any of the stuff I blamed them for, it was the illness talking. Whilst I have scant information on what's happening with Nick Pegg, to me this just has the feel of illness rather than a good indication of Nick persae.

This does feel more orchestrated and narky than just lashing out due to mental health issues though I take the point. Yet it strikes me more as a disgruntled employee trying to be smart....and proving to be just that....but not very clever with it. I've not got your life experience as someone who has fought depression but I do have plenty of experience being a bit too much of a smart arse for my own good - and I think this incident is closer to that.

It is always amazing how people will sometimes bypass burning a bridge and go straight to nuking it. While I don't and likely never will know the details behind this, it seems to me as one way to cause perspective employers to reconsider whether they want to work with you as there is always a chance you'll pull a similar stunt on them.
I've had people try getting me to give them a job only for stupid things they've done in past jobs to lead me to suggest they look elsewhere.

Also, isn't Shada being released on DVD anyway? Yeah, I can't fathom that. Was Nick Pegg involved in the Ian Levine project? Or possibly at the time he submitted his copy to DWM the current 'Shada' project was still being denied, and it was something to do with that? Or maybe they've confused him with Clayton Hickman? Or maybe it's a red herring entirely. (Incidentally, did anybody realise Nick Pegg was the Watcher? I always reckoned it was Gareth Roberts....)

Well, well, well....Private Eye's take on what's been happening at DWM recently. Edit: Yes, I cut the 2nd pic to avoid getting a telling off from mods for posting the C-word in plain sight. There's no text after that anyway.

As usual, we get the reaction of fire, condem & destroy from corporations, organisations, & faceless fandom.
These are nothing more than witch hunts over a stupid little stunt and a chance to gain publicity at someone's expense.
What ever happened to our world when something as puerile & harmless as this warrants such public humiliation.
The editor and proof readers should have spotted this, it's them that should hang their heads as incompetent!
My sub to DWM has been cancelled and now have even less of a reason to continue to watch tv series perhaps the hidden words have more truth to them!

There's no text after that anyway. You know at times like this I'm sure PE's Editor has a bigger stick up there somewhere for DW then he has for politics,
And the more I think about the general situation, why hint at it? why didn't the copy editor pick it up? And who'd want to give it to the general press in the 1st place?

There were a couple of comments regarding Class online to the effect that an in-depth interview with John Barrowman for 10th anniversary of Torchwood was more appropriate and better for the Mag's Sales Figures than detailed promotion of Class.

I thought it was quite funny. Although probably best seen as an ill conceived attempt at sarcastic humour. But among all the weeping and gnashing of teeth that is probably going on over on SpaceBook and Titter, maybe Nick Pegg is right and BBC WW and Pannini are a bunch of c****?! Who knows? We certainly don't. Sure the BBC can sack Nick Pegg from sitting insde a Dalek, it doesn't mean he's wrong though.
