I've just gotten around to watching The Leisure Hive from the Season 18 set (a fantastic story, as always), and I seem to remember someone mentioning that replacement discs were being offered for it because there was something wrong with it. I was just wondering what was wrong? I haven't noticed anything while watching it, so I was wondering whether it was a global thing or just a UK region thing? There was an earlier post saying it only affects the Dual Mono track, so if (like me) you always go straight for the 5:1 mix it's fine. And a great soundtrack it is too. ( How did I not like this story in 1980?? It is fantastic! ) It's made all the better by that terrific new Tommentary on it too. His sheer delight at the baby at the end is a marvel.

The next release will be announced in Tuesday. HMV had a listing for S23 which, on top of all the other signs about that coming soon (not least Colin saying so!), points to that being the one I'd pin my hat on for a September release. I'm not massively fussed - the instant success of the range means they're all coming anyway so the order doesn't matter too much to me. All of the seasons, even ones I'm not quite as fond of, have some stories I do like and the quality of the existing VAM and all the new materials means they're all an event release to me.

Does anyone know why the Season 10 set isn't being released in the US until October? It's slightly frustrating as this would probably put us a release behind going forward, as the September one would be delayed and so on.

I can listen to 5:1 mix, but it takes a bit of work to set the system up so I usually just listen to the standard sound. Might grab a replacement disc while I still can

Season 23 will be interesting to watch through again and I'm very much looking forward to the behind the scenes material on that set, especially interviews with Baker, who I find to be insightful and candid in his interviews.
These sets are coming out at a faster rate than I was initially expecting, which is awesome.

Season 23 in September? I'm shocked! Great to have it confirmed - these are really coming out at a clip now! Six discs though? That's a lot of space for such a short run compared to the other sets with many more eps so hopefully a lot of VAM on this! Colin's certainly been filming a few things but here's hoping there's some real treats here - people have asked for Trial-less versions of the stories for years to just be able to watch them as Who adventures...could it be...? There's obviously much that is touched on in the Trials And Tribulations documentary that could be it's own doc - Colin's firing, Saward's infamous interview, the legal issue with JNT, Pip and Jane against Saward on behalf of Holmes for the last episode, the hiatus...it's a year where the show behind the scenes was maybe more interesting than on it. Then things like the Colin Baker Years VHS could be added, a Matthew Sweet interview and then any material from S21's DVDs that would be better placed here. I actually really like Trial - Jayston is wonderful, Mel is (gasp!) a companion who wants to be there and seems to enjoy her time, Ultimate Foe is insane but quite wonderful in points, Glitz is a lot better here than he would be in S24, Brian Blessed, Lynda Bellingham and a few others make impacts while Nabil Shaban is just fantastic as Sil again. I won't go so far to say it's one of my favourites but it's probably top half and I'd take it over some more popular seasons like S9 or S15. Amazon seem to have jumped the gun a bit on the listing, hopefully later on when the other sites list it we'll get the VAM confirmed. No Brian Blessed on the cover though? Maybe he'd overshadow everyone else? Attachment DeletedSeries 26 in December anyone?

I was about to ask if any of the special features had been announced, but it would seem not. What with having six discs, do you think we might see something similar to The Davros Collection with Big Finish's Season 23 from The Lost Stories being included? That'd be pretty neat Also, as a random stab in that dark at the Behind the Sofa participants, I'm hoping we'll have Colin, Nicola, and Bonnie on one couch, possibly even Michael Jayston as well (they had Peter, Janet, Sarah, and Matthew together for the Season 19 set, so we know they're not concerned about doing four people at once). There's no telling who the second couch might be based on previous seasons, but I'm hoping we might get another 60's companion in for their contrasting perspective on the show, much like Wendy Padury on the Seaon 18 set. EDIT: Just as a point of interest, Australia doesn't even have a release date for Season 10 yet (I tried placing a pre-order today at the store I bought the last three sets from, but they apparently don't even have it listed on their system yet). Hopefully that won't be too far away

Well Whovitt, I'm hoping for a Behind The Sofa with Colin and Eric Saward cuddling up under a blanket and having a giggle over old times. I might be waiting a while on that one! It still tickles me more than it should that the naming system for Region A means the US will get this as Colin Baker: The Complete Season Two. People looking at shelves when these releases are done will wonder how Doctor Who has had over a dozen First Seasons!

Do we have any clue whether Twin Dilemma will be included on Colin Baker: The Complete Season One or Peter Davison: The Complete Season Three? (And what about The Smugglers/ Tenth Planet?)

It'll be on Davison's last set surely - it is a S21 story regardless. Though yes, it wil make the naming convention not just odd but baffling when Patrick Troughton Season 1 starts with 8 episodes of William Hartnell!

The goodies!
Extended edits - of all fourteen episodes (!)
Terror of the Vervoids - four-part standalone edition with updated Fx (Trial-less?) - this will surely be the BFI screening
Immersive 5.1 surround sound & isolated scores - on all 14 broadcast episodes
Behind the Sofa - new episodes with Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant, Bonnie Langford, Mark Strickson, Frazer Hines and Matthew Waterhouse!
The Writers’ Room - Eric Saward, Philip Martin, Christopher H Bidmead & Waly K Daly discuss the ‘Lost’ Season 23. YES!
The Doctor Who Cookbook Revisited - brave cast members tackle their original recipes from the 1980s official cookbook
The Doctor’s Table - join Colin Baker and friends for dinner. Since Colin did Come Dine With Me a few years ago this makes sense!
In Conversation - Matthew Sweet chats to companion Bonnie Langford
Plus: unseen studio footage, rare archive treats, convention footage, Blu-ray trailer, HD photo galleries, scripts, costume designs & more in the PDF Archive.
The six-disc box set also includes hours of extensive special features previously released on DVD.

Yrcanos-sized ROAR of laughter! They're doing us proud with the trailers for these never mind the actual content!
Six disks for Sixie! Of course, I'd have expected nothing less. Extended edits for every episode, new effects and look at those 'Behind the Sofa' lineups and glimpses of the Matrix-full (nearly) of new material.
