I must be one of the only people who doesn't like the 15 minute previews in the podcast. First I feel like I'm being spoiled, then when the thing actually comes out, I dislike spending the first quarter of an episode feeling like 'yeah yeah I've done this already.' I understand and support the rationale behind it, promoting a new product and whatnot. It just doesn't work for me. Then why listen to it? I stopped, for the reasons stated

Uuuuuurgh, I really want to listen to this but I might not have available funds for a bit. :/ Still, absence makes the heart grow fonder, as the saying goes, and it'll be awesome whenever I get to hear it!

Let’s hope that Nick wasn’t April Fooling us when he said it would be out this week.

I know his solo boxsets aren't exactly popular but I'm looking forward to Churchill here, I've wanted him meeting classic Doctors for a while

I was wishy-washy on checking them out for a quite a while but really enjoyed them once I finally caved and bought. They're a bit like Companion Chronicles, only delivered through the pomp and bluster of Winston Churchill--and Ian McNeice's performances are wonderful. I have no idea whether the two sets sold well enough for it to get a third, but if it does, I will certainly be picking it up.

I haven’t bought the sets - they don’t appeal, unless they maybe do a War Doctor story - but the quality is very good indeed.

I have no idea whether the two sets sold well enough for it to get a third, but if it does, I will certainly be picking it up. Seconded! I thought both sets were excellent, providing you like the 'hybrid' style of story-telling - full-cast Companion Chronicles, with some narrative from Churchill (I assume reading the sensational unpublished parts of his diaries!) and him filling in for the Doctor (it is 'Churchill' who fills in rather than Ian McNeice if that makes sense) but otherwise they are full cast stories. And great stories from some of BF's best writers. Each set is standalone and so mostly are the stories within them, so if you are interested in trying these I'd recommend starting with the second volume, which I thought was even better. And features Madame Vastra! The free download 'The Oncoming Storm' is an excellent story, but I found it the only one which was harder to get into regarding the part-narrated style, so for me it wouldn't have been such a good guide.

I got the both in bundles. Listened to first two of vol1, keep meaning to try the Dalek story

I prefer full cast to audiobook, not a great fan of the half and half Early Adventures format

That's true - using a different actor as a narrator is an inspired choice. I get why they don't do it all the time - it's an extra actor to pay - but it could be interesting to see them try that again. I'd even be interested in hearing one of the regulars (namely someone with a great narrator voice like Peter Purves or Anneke Wills) narrate an EA story their character doesn't appear in.

Odd to not see BF doing one of their daily countdowns for this.

Maybe. This just seems like the kind of release that warrants a countdown from them. Providing Nick wasn't pulling people's leg in the podcast by saying it was due this week.
