Could Disney be relaunching Buffy? Given Twentieth Century Fox being acquisition by Disney and Disney's been focusing on strong female leads for awhile now (Rey, Elsa and Anna, Rapaunzael, Merida, Moana) and there's plenty of potential for a cinematic adaptation of the TV series. (Not ignoring the rather jarring and threatening monopoly Disney has right now)

I'd be up for it. I want girls to know Buffy, her struggle, her strength, her vulnerability and I'd love the more problematic areas of the franchise addressed or changed. (*cough* Angel)

The whole hundred year old vampire stint. It's creepy, plus, he kind of stalked Buffy. I mean, why couldn't Angel just be a guy Buffy's age who got bit by vampires? You could do his whole plotline (admittingly, I'd imagine there would be a lot more sensitive take on the Romani) without the hundred year old vampire stint. Just ugh. DID NOT LIKE. Buffy deserved better. |

You could do his whole plotline (admittingly, I'd imagine there would be a lot more sensitive take on the Romani) without the hundred year old vampire stint. Just ugh. DID NOT LIKE. Buffy deserved better. Also I found out that technically Buffy was Underage when they did it by California Law at the time |

But loose the plot-line you loose a cornerstone of the show (obviously raise her age this time)

Actually reading up on the issue it's very tricky to write around if a US Drama involving Teen Characters I imagine, unless you write completely non-physical relationships for them

It may have been because of the Actors actual age, that they were able to skirt the issue Perhaps but you still have the same issue any consensual romantic character coupling will eventually become physical and both parties have to be of legal age (and it turns out for US Drama the right legal Age Range as well) and one not in position of authority over the other or your condoning illegal activity of characters in any Teen Drama.
