Yep good deal got a few I was missing I don't by the CDs anymore, a matter of cost and space. Clearly it's a move to try shift more stock.

Given only one of 51-100 has gone out of print since it was announced they weren't going to be repressed 10 months ago, I reckon they just want to hurry the process along a little.

Managed to plug the gaps I needed - have all of these now that I want (I prefer 5, 6 and 7 - so have skipped the 8th for the mo).
Ordered Renaissance of the Daleks this morning and see it is now out of print. Fingers crossed I'll get that one on physical copy.
Wonder when Big Finish will do a 101-150 sale? Some gaps there to fill!!

Having bought The Game as a listeners or some-such download offer, and Dreamtime as 2.99 DL when these were initially reduced, I have bought CD copies of these two today, just as a last chance to ensure I have all of 51-100 as Physical releases. That's all too often now I have double-dipped, going for a DL offer on a range of which I collect the Physical range.
Still good value though, as I keep them all shrink wrapped now (listen to DL only). I would say 85% of the Doctor Who merchandise I have bought since the mid eighties are still either in the condition I bought them, or well looked after. For example, keeping my Target books etc, in old travel chests (aka like the one in the Tardis in Power of the Daleks) for the past quarter of a century has ensured they haven't browned at the edges due to oxidisation.
I digress, but how many others have an OCD level of care when it comes to their Doctor Who collections? I suspect its quite common.

I care for things but not to obsessive levels gone are the days when I wouldn’t turn the corner of a book etc or not bend the spine. My CDs are there to be listened to their covers browsed if they end up in good condition when am dead and gone that is good.I think so many people think in Monetary value or collectors piece value.dont get me wrong am not careless with them but just not to the point that if someone does something to them that i will lose it.People are more important than things.

Agree. Am not OCD about my collection - I like to keep it in good condition but still listen to the CDs, read the books, browse the magazines, etc. If that results in minor damage then so be it. I always find it sad (as in upsetting) that you get people who have had toys when they are children that are still in mint/boxed conditions and have never been played with. Has that person really enjoyed their product? Isn't that the point of collecting anything - to enjoy it?

They just get looked after so that they do not get worn or damaged. The CD's I refer to just don't need to get opened as I have the digital copies. They still look the same on the shelf. It's just nice to dig out things from years back and appreciate that they remain undamaged. Let's face it, when looking for things of value, it is the condition that attracts interest. It is possible to enjoy things without causing damage. I speak with self effacement and humour when referring to the way I keep things.

And they keep it all wrapped up.I bought my nephew the original LORD of the Rings figures and i ensured he Played with them and got to be honest he played with then all all of the t I’ve and st ill managed t o keep them in great condition he brought them out at Christmas last year and showed me them all.Its not the price its the enjoyment.

I think one of the things about modern day merchandise is that they are produced in larger quantities and a lot of collectors keep them boxed for future posterity. A few years back there was a documentary about a collector of Batman movie marchandise, whose wife and children wanted him to clear the spare room he had filled with boxed toys, etc. The advisors brought in to help him sell on his duplicates (he had several copies of everything) had to break it to him that there was nothing of value beyond what they were new as there was no rarity and that other collectors will have their own boxed versions too. We weren't talking 60's and 70's toys here but 90's onwards.
When looking at things from 30-50 years go still boxed, that's a different issue, but the kids who did not look after their things back then and who have become collectors can make the mistake of thinking that today's mass market items, made with collectors in mind, are ever going to achieve rarity value. Supply and demand really. Boutique emporiums will be full of 'as new, loft find' stock 30 years from now at this rate, as things get passed on. So no, i don't keep things 'in the box', but at least maybe keep an empty box or two in the loft.

Just bought about four of these and none of them went out of print. How disappointing, I was expecting to have a small illusion of power this evening.
