I do wonder if his post was sly confirmation of the speculation that Captain Jack is being recast (as suggested in articles such as this one: metro.co.uk/2024/03/23/doctor-fans-predict-return-iconic-character-trailer-drops-20517116/) and that he just happened to pick a Captain Jack picture. It would make a lot of sense to cast a younger actor to keep the whole immortal and doesn't age (or ages very slowly) thing going. I do empathize with desire to want Absent Friends to be released. If I recall correctly Big Finish has released audios with controversial actors such as James Dreyfus after the controversy, but then just never hire them again. Of course, in those cases I presume the BBC didn't get involved. Honestly i couldn't imagine the blow back Big Finish would have to deal with if they Recast Captain Jack for their audios
If the speculation in the articles is true, the BBC is recasting Captain Jack for Season one of the Fifteenth Doctor's run. So, Big Finish would be insulated from any blowback if they later decided to use the recast Jack. Now, if this is all true, I have no idea whether Jonathan Groff would have any availability or interest to work with Big Finish. I also seriously doubt Big Finish would further recast and get another soundalike if Groff was not available. While they seemed all to happy to do that with the Eleventh Doctor, creating Ng rather than recasting Gwen may have set a different precedent for Torchwood.

Art Decadence and Widdershins sound exciting. I'm intrigued about what makes 20s Torchwood unique.
The Tosh story does sound very run of the mill and whole I've not heard of them, it seems like the writers for the Rhys story are big in their field?

This is the one I'm looking forward to. Restoration Comedy, done Norton-style.
'Lady Catherine, how delightful. I'm Norton, and that's my friend Andy with the huge arquebus.'

I'm not going to say that I'm surprised that Rhys is back, but it'll be nice to hear Tosh again, I will say I don't know if I'm completely 'sold' on the other two but, of course, I will more than happily get them as it's nice to get a pair of 'Torchwood' releases that don't (currently) 'rely' on "the usual faces"...

Nice to get a proper big update on coming stories rather than piecemeal approach lately. I’m game for some 20s Torchwood for something different and the “Halloween special” sounds intriguing.

Originally posted - wrongly - in the BF Updates thread - this collection sounds like something to really look forward to, with the possible exception of the 1920's Art Decadence. The set-up makes it sound like a comedy, which (a) is something I'm personally not a huge fan of, and (b) I may be completely wrong about anyway. Great to hear more from Tosh, and I'm really excited about the halloween special. Widdershins has a vaguely folk-horror sound to it, which again, I may also be completely wrong about (see b).
Edited to add - The Hollow Choir. What a title!
