It might be entirely unrelated, but Ms Gillan posted a shot of herself on Instagram overnight? behind a mic, with the comment "Audio Book DONE!!!". http://instagr.am/p/BofMeJ3BquC Of course, it could be for one of her other projects, Guardians perhaps, but her previous Insta post was one of her, Matt and Arthur from the filming of 'The Angels Take Manhattan'... we can but hope, eh?

Could be new Melody Malone shorts narrated by the "Author" or new ST {which I'd take}, but of course my preference would be for Full Cast.

I really struggle to believe they would be able to get Karen - who is surely the biggest success story of the new series - in just for Short Trips.

Unless it was a toe dipper, a try out if you will. Not convinced either, but it would give a reason for Karen to do a Short Trip.

To clutch at some straws, wouldn't be the first time someone confused audiobook and audio drama...

I would disagree Scots never really forget their roots or their big breaks and she really is a committed Whovian too am sure she would snap at the chance for audio dramas with Matt and Arthur time permitting....I mean to hell with the waiting around prosthetics CGI...stroll in without make up and voila

Maybe she’s in a BF Classic.

I did wonder if this was BF-related, but I’m not getting my hopes up so I’m taking it with a pinch of salt. Would love some Eleven/Amy/Rory audios though.

It may not be Big Finish related but if Karen is happy recording audiobooks then it would be a step in the right direction for possible BF work one day in the future.

Trying not to get my hopes up for 11 and crew to materialize at Big Finish soon, but I'm all for dreaming big.

Could possibly be for River series 6 or 7? *clutches 'nother straw* The idea of a River Song box set featuring Amy never really occurred to me before and now that it has, I want it now!

How will she manage to scowl on audio? Or sound speechless when Rory 'dies' again?

IF (big if) it's for Big Finish, I would bet it's for River Song, unless they've managed to grab Matt Smith as well. They wouldn't "waste" her on a Short Trip or 11th Doctor Chronicles for her first appearance. Especially after Infinity War.

They wouldn't "waste" her on a Short Trip or 11th Doctor Chronicles for her first appearance. Especially after Infinity War. She is a busy, and very talented, working actor but not one that I would classify as a huge star. When I think of Infinity War, Karen Gillian's Nebula doesn't really spring forward as one of the top names. If she is interested in working for Big Finish I don't know how much more difficult scheduling her would be when they already juggle schedules to accommodate Tennant, Tate, Piper, Kingston, Gomez or even McGann.

I think Big Finish are more than capable of getting Karen Gillian and Matt Smith etc. for the simple reason is that they are part of the who family and everyone loves to be with each other and they trust the others that have already worked with Big Finish. For example, I'm sure that Matt and David have talked about BF before and that Tennant wholeheartedly recommends doing it. Plus it has a reputation of being fun and rewarding work that doesn't require any makeup so...

If I were Matt Smith, at this point in my career, i'm focused on accruing enough non-Who projects to define myself as an actor with bankability beyond being classed as a one-hit-wonder. "The Crown" helped with that, as did his cameos in Terminator and other Hollywood projects. But he hasn't yet cemented himself as a star outside of Who.
All he needs is one more hit project, on the level of Broadchurch, and his career will be secured. Tennant had such projects under his belt before Who, so Broadchurch (and Jessica Jones, arguably) and his roles in smaller Hollywood films cemented his status. For Matt Smith, an unknown prior to Who, it's a bit of a more uphill battle.
If I were Smith's agent, i'd be tempering my client against Who-related projects until I had a third hit under his belt.
Karen Gillan, fortunately, has enough status that for her, returning to Who via Big Finish sends the message that she remembers the roots of her fan community, and so it could be beneficial to her brand for her to feed the Who community. Matt Smith, at this time, needs a bit more indisputable success before it's "safe" for him to return to the roots of his fanbase.

Tennant is Scrooge McDuck. As far as I’m concerned, himmplaying rhe Doctor is secondary to that!
