So today's my last day of classes for my sophomore year at college and two of them have been cancelled due to the professors having personal matters to attend to. So it's just three days of exams and I'm off for the summer...which means I start looking at taking the MCAT. Also I'm playing second trumpet for a production of West Side Story over the summer which starts practicing at the end of next week so that's fun.

Watching Captain America 1 on tv with my wife.. She is all about the "subtext" memes of all things Marvel.. she was calling out every scene which shows the real love story is between "Cap and Bucky" .. WOW.. it's all there in the movies.. Gold HAHAHAHA! Broke: Steve is straight and loves Peggy Woke: Steve is gay and loves Bucky Bespoke: Steve is bi and loves them both. Ahh theres the shift3 2019 phrases LOL.
I can't say anymore because it might be considered a spoiler about "Endgame".
Actually who deserves a big pat on their back is the casting agent. Her name escapes me but she was responsible for everyone from Iron Man 1 up to the latest movie, but she wasn't responsible for the Captain Marvel casting. She pretty much hit it spot on.

Gold HAHAHAHA! I'm the same with other things. It does annoy my mother a little bit, but hey, it's worth it! (Watching an episode of 'Call The Midwife') (Mimicking Lucille) "I'm sorry but I can't go out with you, I'm in love with Valerie..." "SINCE WHEN?!" "Subtext..."

This slice of nostalgia has made my day. Someone has uncovered the trailer for Survival - which is cool and makes the episode seem pretty scary - but what's great about the video for me is that it's got a few seconds either side, featuring Andy Crane and Ed The Duck in the CBBC broomcupboard and at the end, a link-in to that days episode of Neighbours. Instant time machine for me.

I got him to say in his version of an English accent "Hello.. I'm the Doctor".. I wish I could have filmed it OMG he made me proud !

Done all i can for my family while battling daily with my mental health & this is the thanks i get, verbal abuse.

I’m enjoying a bit of told-you-so’ism at all the negative reactions to the final season of Game of Thrones in the last few weeks (especially after yesterday’s). Seeing people finally come around to say they think it’s become a crappy cartoon version of its old self, after receiving massive amounts of grief for saying the exact same for the last three or four years, is immensely satisfying.
This is not the nicest thing in the world, I’ll admit, but I am so enjoying it.

I haven't watched it since the first season, mostly as GRRM has never seemed all that interested in getting the next book out and I wanted to read it before the tv series wrapped up.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I enjoyed the tv series more than the books but I've not watched it since series 4. It became a constant merry-go-round of people being arseholes to each other. Also, having friends and family obsessed with it means I can't escape so I just don't get where the outrage offer Dany burning a city comes from: all she has done the entire show is react badly to things and repent afterwards. It's like the fan response to Jaime becoming a "nice" character: he pushed a kid out of a window. Maybe it's my teaching background but people like the GOT characters don't deserve "redemptive" arcs. </rant>

I don't think it's been bad for that long, but it definitely nosedived in Season 7 and hasn't remotely started on an upward trajectory since. Last night's episode was really stupid which is a shame, as I'd really been secretly hoping that it might improve at the last minute. I'll hopefully be having a viewing party for the final episode next week, so we should all be able to have a good laugh at the ridiculousness that will be the conclusion...

Ridiculous, absurd and a character destruction of nearly every well-written character is how I'd put it. Is there any point watching the last episode? If it has to improve in the last episode, we need Bran's timey-wimey intervention and I'm not counting on them to sort out this mess in anyway. So this is it.

Game Of Thrones Episode 5, lazy writing & baffling character arcs, this season has jumped the shark & phoned it in, fan's deserve a much better pay off than this shambolic bafflegab.

I thought it nosedived in Season 6...which was back in 2016 (hence my 3 years ago comment). It started to lose the plot during Season 5 but I stuck with it, but then Season 6, good god. The complaints I've been seeing all over the place in the last few weeks (both online like some of the comments made here in this thread, and from people I know in real life who watch it) are all pretty much exactly saying the same things now that made me quit three years back. I saw my sister last night, who at the time reacted to me quitting with things like "what the heck, it's awesome" and "oh come on, there's only a season or two left." When I prodded her a little about it last night, she says "ugh, you bailed out at the right time." Like I was saying, I know "I told you so" isn't a great or flattering look. But it sure feels good

But something was off since the pilot of this season and I hate saying this, I'm upset for having wasted my time with this, particularly after the fifth episode. All I can do is wait for GRRM to finish (which most likely may not happen in the next 50 years) and hope he gives it a better conclusion.
