Made: With some help from my Dad, I've bought a new laptop. I was initially reluctant to get a new one, as the old one still "works". The disc drive's burnt out from ripping Big Finish CDs, the audio system's kaput for unknown reasons, and it doesn't last more than a minute or so off the charger before going flat, but it's still good for Word processing and internet searches, hence the reluctance. It's also really nice to be able to listen to music/watch videos on it though, so I'm looking forward to having a fully functioning one for the next uni semester (starting Monday). Not made: Boy, good laptops aren't cheap, are they... Even though my Dad offered to split the cost, it's still a bit of whack to the wallet. I've still got some money for the (hopefully) inevitable 20th anniversary of Doctor Who at Big Finish sale though, so it's a win-win

Well, I'm home from holiday... I had a great time visiting museums, seeing historical places & spending two-and-a-bit days at the Universal Parks, it's sad to see it end. I will say that I did have a great time, but BOY am I not looking forward to going to work tomorrow! EDIT - One of our suitcases didn't make it on the flight home =_=

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

The play I’m in (Terry Pratchett’s The Truth) opened tonight. A uniformly fun time was had by the cast and (hopefully) the audience as well.

Having a really good time making headway on writing and revising my micro-budget screenplay. In addition, so many of my friends(almost family) from my years spent in community drama programs are excitingly wanting to work on this project with me!

My friend asked me to share a fundraiser for a patient of her dad's (dad is a pediatric specialist). The family is trying to get special medicine for the girl; it needs to be administered by her 2nd birthday, July 18. thechesedfund.com/esther/save-eliana

Made my day: Defunctland's Jim Henson docuseries had its final episode release today. Even if you have a passing interest in Jim Henson or the Muppets, I genuinely encourage you to check this out because it might just genuinely be one of the best things anyone has ever put up on YouTube and that last episode is a half hour cry session. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLplWWKocAfTYIGzH8eQ0x0kEQgoV9CpYm

Any golfers or golf fans out there?
The Open is coming to town this week. I live in portrush which is hosting the event this week. I have zero interest in golf and it looks as if the whole week is going to be a bit mad with so many people descending on the town. But it should be an experience nonetheless.

Made my day England winning the Cricket World Cup by showing the passion & heart in victory made me proud to be British.
Federer losing Wimbledon final not made my day though especially as it was to arrogant Djokovic who i can't stand.

I'm still trying to believe that world cup final and the almost incredible, statistically incredible I mean, result. To borrow and update a bit of sporting history: " They think it's a tie... it is now!"
Great team performance in the most tense of situations: England win a world cup by tying the final twice, and with one boundary you couldn't invent if this was a film script. Surely it could only happen in the really beautiful game!
(Have to feel sorry for the Kiwis losing by the thinnest whisker, after counting boundaries. But what a result!)

Got in for free to a practice say. Sat at the grandstand at the 18th. More interested in dandering about the spectator village than in watching any golf. Haven't seen any famous golfsrs, not that I would recognise any of them apart from tiger woods or rory mcilroy.

My 18 yr old niece getting drunk mixing cocktail drinkss at her mom's 50th birthday dinner & then spends the early hours of Sunday being sick & left quite ill.
I gave her a stern talking too last night, i hope this is just a one off although i doubt it as I'm from a family who can drink alcohol like it's tap water.

Ain't just that she has a medical condition where she isn't supposed drink a lot of alcohol, but what can you do? Sometimes only way to learn is to make mistakes.
