Made: Finished the middle week of the play I'e been working on. Really enjoyed being a part of a company again (although have, as a consequence, been pretty quiet here and other places). Back at work after two weeks off and will be taken out of the classroom for a day a week for "higher duties" (suspect it might mostly be things the principal and deputy don't want to do but it's a couple dollars a day extra).
Not made: Eldest got dumped by their fiance a couple of weeks ago and isn't coping well.

The new laptop arrived today (despite paying the shipping option to have it arrive last Thursday, but never mind...). I've had it for an hour and it's all set up, including anti-virus software (which I switched over from the old laptop). Because I was specifically looking for something that loaded faster than the old one, I've ended up with a mid-range (I believe) gaming laptop, which is a small bonus as I do game occasionally (nowhere near as much as I used to). The loading speeds on this thing though!!! It used to take about 5 seconds for a page on the forum to load, now they're loaded within 1 second! It's a new lease of life The only downside is I've only just realised I don't have a Microsoft Office package for the new rig, and as a uni student that's quite essential. I guess I'll have to keep using the old one until I can afford the Microsoft package EDIT: Turns out I'm able to transfer them from the old laptop too.

So I am on Day 17 of a big cold/virus. Picked it up from my lil boy who had it about 2.5 weeks ago. When he went to our family doctor he was going on and on about "Doctor Who flying in the sky in the stars helping people in his taaaaarrrrdiss".. The doctor is a Whovian as well so he started chatting away, my wife confirmed his favourites are 4 and 5 first but he loves all era's.. He is 3.. woops So I go to the doctors this morning cause I just cant shake it- turns out its a secondary respiratory infection as well.. I go in specifially wearing my 5th Doctor long sleeve costumey top. He immediately fanboyed over it saying it's awesome, told him I have 4,5,10,11 so far . Now I am on some yummy strong drugs and 3 days off work. I reckon I can catchup on some cd's- I am 1/2 way thru the 1st cd of "Legacy Of Time"

Does anyone else use Doctor Who to help their moods?
Let's put it this way. Legacy of time got me through a really not great thing I did yesterday

Does anyone else use Doctor Who to help their moods? Let's put it this way. Legacy of time got me through a really not great thing I did yesterday 100%. The livestream helped heal some compassion fatigue after a few overly stressful days at work. Happy ending, though. I mentioned that I'd been there for twelve months as of... today, actually, and everyone leaped on the opportunity to throw a party. Looking forward to that, I think we all need it.

However, since I had some stress at work and I went into Lies in Ruins expecting a fun romp right before bedtime... did not help my mood and I slept very badly.
I even had a bad dream the next night of Lies in Ruins... normally I enjoy my fandom dreams, but they can also get out of hand in the other direction. It can go both ways with me, sadly (luckily? blessing and a curse here) I am very empathetic and the mood of an audio or music (or even a book) can either lift me up or pull me down. This is one of the reasons I am not watching much TV anymore, it affected my mood and sleep on a regular basis and I have to very careful with what I watch. Also, I think this is the reason I often read reviews and spoilers beforehand to protect myself from some of the impact.

"Whadda you mean that I can't take out £40 in one pound coins from a Post Office?!?! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! LAST WEEK I WAS ALLOWED TO DO IT WITH £20! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!"
'Nothing like two weeks away to forget that your hometown is the centre of entitlement and first world problems...

Not made: Eldest got dumped by their fiance a couple of weeks ago and isn't coping well. Well, look at it this way, they didn't get married, then have to get divorced, possibly with a child in tow. This way, however depressing right now, can be made a clean break. Getting them to reach that point? You're on your own!

Insomnia again flares it's ugly head, too many stresses going on in my personal life makes it difficult to unwind & chill.

I'm sure you've probably told your eldest already but it does get easier..in time. Not that they can see that right now I'd wager. Small steps along a long road, with a lot of self healing and self confidence boosting along the way. I wish them a swift journey to that end point.

Benny & River share awesome chemistry in The Legacy Of Time, surely there's a spin off series in the works?
