Made a movie for my boss.
He came to find me to tell me he liked it.

Hello again.
Despite the ongoing shambles, Britain still has a sense of humour. On the BBC Have Your Say comments section on yet another depressing Brexit story, one wag wrote:
"Don't you think Boris looks tired."

NOT: Two hours. . . two Lucie-bleeding-Miller hours on the phone with Amazon to straighten out a single order problem. The problem was not resolved until I connected with the fourth representative (this one in the wrong department), but it was the guy in the wrong department who actually resolved my problem!
Made my day: Space: 1999 is out. Must dash. . .

Only two years after the first one ever known, astronomers think they have discovered the second interstellar comet coming through the Solar System from 'outside'.
(I'm not really surprised - the Ramans do everything in threes...)
Seriously though, how cool is this? The chance for science to observe a fragment of another solar system at (relatively) close range. Have you seen the scientific paper analyzing the likely chance omouamoua (that it’s name?) could be a solar sail? I found that massively exciting. Not only because Rendezvous with Rama is one of my all time favorite sci-fi novels. But because this is happening in real life and it would not be totally unlikely. But even if it is just an interstellar rock- it still is cool.

Going out in an hour or so to catchup with some Who lovin'-Big Finish collectin' mates who may or may not be on this forum :-)
Between us 3 we have met Doctors #4 (3 times between 2 people!)#5, #6, #7, #8, #11 and #12.
The list is ridiculous with the Companions- literally everyone from 1st Doctor to latest who has visited/toured Australia (and we have the photos as a keepsake LOL)I guesstimate maybe 20ish companions all up (?).

Only getting three Mozzie bites so far.😀 I can't quite work out from your post if that's a good thing or if as a Scot you feel you're missing an essential part of every summer holiday...
(Ahh, the Highlands in summer - outdoor activities paradise, happy memories - with just that one little drawback... )

(Ahh, the Highlands in summer - outdoor activities paradise, happy memories - with just that one little drawback... ) First day i arrived to work here i had so many bites i looked like Quasimodo facially with swelling. Every day I’d get eaten alive.I tried every detergent nothing works. One day i trapped a mozzie in my shorts and t shirts when i woke i had almost forty bites on my bum. It was so swollen i was in a car with my friend i said please stop i need to dive into the sea to cool my ass down it was so sore....I dived in and a Jellyfish stung me right across my forearm and it swelled up too. A sandfly bit me and my arm reacted so badly i had to go to A and E lol. Midgies-never a problem at all apart from being annoying. Mosquitoes-i go to bed at night searching for them like Ripley in the Aliens movie-minus the flame thrower but just as determined to slaughter them So three Bites thats like heaven to me and the seem to react less and less now.

Yes I did, it was an amazingly exciting idea, and I think it would be technically possible for us to build a solar sail that size before too much longer, so it's not unlikely that someone, somewhere might have done - if there is anyone of course!
It did turn out to be a comet of some sort when they got more observations in, but as you say, still cool - our first definite view of something from another solar system. This time they have much more advance warning and it'll be fascinating to see what the astronomers can learn as it flies by over the next few months.

I cannot believe my good fortune today. The local used book shop had a copy of E. C. Tubb's novelisation of Breakaway (Space:1999) in great condition. What are the odds?
