Thanks all - lots of good points here, enough for several articles! Well, today an article, maybe one day an ebook? I'm certain followers of Red Rocket Rising would love a companion piece.

The return of Janet Fielding was a huge coup. And that of course greased the wheels for the amazing releaseas she has been on with Sarah, Mark, Matthew, and now Jon Culshaw. Also "Oh No It Isn't" should be mentioned in any retrospective and you should listen to it if u havent yet. I would also say the War Master series and BF originals are also major milestones. The War Master is such a stark departure from our traditional hero tales. I also find myself hopeful for a Box O Beevers. But I digress. Oh No, It Isn't! isn't a Doctor Who milestone though, nor are the Big Finish Originals.

I would say Oh No It Isn't is simply because the Benny audios are perhaps the single biggest reason why the BBC awarded Big Finish the license.

August and September 2015 featured the proper debuts of Tim Treloar as the Third Doctor and Elliot Chapman as Ben Jackson, the first time major characters from the TV episodes had been recast with new actors in full cast, Doctor and companion specifically. Various actors had portrayed Doctors and companions whose actors were absent, but this was the first time it was explicitly full cast recasts. Both of them have been very well received in the roles and continue in them. Tim had played the Third Doctor in the 50th anniversary story The Light at the End, but it wasn't a large role within the story. The Third Doctor Adventures really gave him a chance to show how well he could channel Jon Pertwee without completely copying his performance.
On the subject on companions, within the Companion Chronicles Home Truths extended Sara Kingdom's story beyond The Dalek's Master Plan through a very clever loophole (as well as a detail from the novelisations of the story) and The Perpetual Bond gave the First Doctor his very first audio only companion in Oliver Harper. The Beginning presented the very first adventure the Doctor and Susan took.

I would say should be most important one after that the sirens of time It's an interesting line I wouldn't have considered as:
a) I only got into Big Finish with the Lucie Miller stories b) I haven't got or heard any early Benny! (I'll hand in my geek membership badge at the door...)
