Using the iOS app, when starting to download an item the circle appears and starts to fill in. If it keeps getting only a small fraction of the way round then starts again, is each time it does that a step towards a complete download or is it really restarting each time?
It's doing this for me most times I try to download something these days. Been doing it for an hour trying to download Medicinal Purposes just now. This is my second attempt today. Earlier it did the same for ages till, as I was heading out and away from my wi-fi, I pressed the pause button.
Also, should a paused download also be able to be resumed at a later time? Second time trying this download it didn't appear like it was partially downloaded.
It was like this last time when it took all evening to get Dark Eyes 4 onto my iPhone a few weeks ago.
I'm not listening to things as much these days. In the past I was downloading several titles a week and I don't recall things taking this long or working in such a restarty way.

Finally switched to a nice new (and more importantly) Android phone, the Nokia 6, and added the Big Finish app before anything else because I really love the idea and was hoping it might make my Big Finish listening a bit more convenient.
Unfortunately it's really struggling to finish a download, and at the moment it seems like there's only about a 10-20% chance of actually getting anything. I've tried everything from setting it downloading and walking away, to watching the download from start to finish, to downloading groups of titles rather than just one, to downloading varying sizes of file, but it's entirely random what it manages to complete and in the last three hours it's only managed to get one Companion Chronicle. I tried installing it on someone else's phone (a Samsung) just to see if they had any luck with it, but it's just as sleepy there too.
Is anyone else struggling with it at the moment, or has it always been as random as this?

Even if you request the app to store using the SD card the phone still needs over X2 spare memory to download and then extract. I'm not sure this is your issue tbh, but I know any story over 300mb will fail for me. Crappy new phone storage!

As a new phone it shouldn't be too clogged yet (got a 128GB memory card to help with storage) but the App is struggling even to download a single Short Trip without failing several times.

A bit of experimenting today seems to have fixed the problem; once I pressed to download a title I had to wait for the ring to stop spinning and actually starting counting round like a clock before doing anything else. If I just set it spinning and then left the app to go elsewhere it would keep spinning forever - there's stuff still spinning from this morning that'll need cancelling, but think I understand it a bit better now!
Also I know now not to listen to a story while downloading another, cos that'll interrupt the download...

I think I figured out what was going on with Android downloads, but would like to see if someone can confirm this. While going through the code (working on new features!) I noticed that a database sync could cause a box set to lose its download id. This means that when a download finishes, the box set would no longer have an id which is supposed to match the download to the box set. I believe this causes the infinite spinning issue. Here are the two scenarios that can cause this "reset" of the download id. Doing a pull to refresh, or switching to the device view will cause the app to try to download your purchase history, which will trigger a database sync, which will wipe out the donwload id. This should also explain why if you start a download and try doing other things, it might not work. And it also explains why if you start a download and watch it, it works fine. Here's the part where I'd like you to help. 1) Start a download and simply watch it finish to completion. Please confirm that this works perfectly. 2) Start a download and do a pull to refresh. Please confirm that this causes the download to infinitely spin when done. 3) (similar to two, and not necessary but would be nice to know). Start a download, switch to the device list, then back to the cloud list. Confirm the download complete, but then infinitely spins. After we've confirmed some things, I'd like to get you guys to hop onto the Android Beta where this should be fixed. So if you could, please post your results here, and then PM me an email and I can send you an invite to the beta group. Thanks for your patience

Are we ok to download ios11 yet....or will it break the BF app?
The app is more important to me, but then again I don't want to get left behind!
If it's still not ready any idea of an approx time frame? Are we talking days, weeks or months?

Yes it should be fine. Apple broke some things in early beta versions of iOS 11, but they were eventually taken care of. No changes were really needed on my end

I'm not sure if this issue has appeared yet for anyone else, but here goes.
I'm using ios11 on a iphone 8. Porting over my iphone backup from my previous phone (iphone 6) kept my settings/login info for the Big Finish app but no data. I've downloaded various box sets (notably the entire Doom Coalition series), it seems the individual stories no longer show up in order. The order they appear in within the individual box set listings seem totally random. In Doom Coalition set 1 and 2 the first item listed is the behind the scenes file, this file shows up second in the listings for set 3 and third for set 4.
Any one else seeing this?

I know the simulator recently did this, but I’m not sure why yet. I’ll have to look into it.

I’m having the same issue. Started listening to The Prisoner Vol 2 and after 15 minutes of feeling I’d missed something realised it had started from the 2nd episode “Project Six” and all the episodes in the app are in a random order. Bit annoying in this case as it has spoiled the first episode a bit for me. Downloaded some other titles to check if it was just The Prisoner but it happens to all titles downloaded.
