Wonderful story, and sounds like Jake has really stepped up his game with his take on the Twelfth Doctor. Excellent!

A Short Trip definitely worth the listen, from the wonderful writing to the unique narrating and sound design. Well done to Ben, Jacob, and everyone involved!

Well, this was quite a good little story. And Dudman is getting better with his 12, although it might have helped to have the Doctor only appear in a few scenes. But 12 got a faithful characterization, great job from the writer.

Just listened to Best Laid Plans, I thought the writing was very clever and I liked the plot twist towards the end 😊I thought Jacob Dudman did a decent job narrating, although it struck me as bit funny that Jacob’s natural speaking voice made it sound as though the 11th Doctor were narrating a story about 12😄 I liked a lot of the voices he did for the various characters, particularly Dracksil himself 😊 Although I am sorry to admit I like his 12 voice the least, it makes him sound like 12 has a stuffy nose and did not have the right sense of deep gravitas that character needs 🤔I appreciate that Jacob seems to be doing his best with a voice that may not be in his natural range filing in for an actor who is not signed to Big Finish yet, but his performance as 12 just does not work for me, perhaps I am just a purist and only like Capaldi playing 12🤔 I really liked the way the plot was constructed though and I think Ben Tedds has a bright future with Big Finish 😊 A mixed bag but I am glad I listened to it🤔😊

It’s a good little story. I think Dudman’s Twelfth Doctor is still pretty weak, but his reading was pleasant.

They put up a pre-order button for this a week or so ago, but it doesn't appear to have done anything. Still, easy enough to re-unlock.

Dudman's 12 has definitely improved. Not nearly as good as John Culshaw's 12, but a lot better than his first attempt. This was a fun story and had a very different tone from the past Paul Bragg winners. I liked it and I'm looking forward to hearing it again.

A very enjoyable story from Ben Tedds. He nicely captures the 12th Doctor’s voice and quirky humour. Though the tone is different from previous Paul Spragg stories, in the end it’s still about the Doctor’s impact on the protagonist. Of course, lots of other people get saved in the process. Well done, Ben!

Good story, horrible job of sounding like 12.

Yeah - sadly I personally didn't find it to be the strongest incentive for the Twelfth Doctor Chronicles, especially because he set an impressive bar for the Tenth and Eleventh Doctor sets.

Neat concept, alright story overall and I’m still not sold on Dudman’s 12.

My take on 'The Best-Laid Plans' is now up at CultBox - a fantastical tale full of some great ideas. I'm quite sold on Dudman's Capaldi myself...

Sadly, I really don't like Dudman's Twelve. He does a good Ten and an excellent Eleven, but he just cannot imitate Capaldi. And that's okay, you can't impersonate everybody, but Big Finish really should have looked for someone else.
The story was nice, but I didn't find it as poignant and emotional as the previous two. It was pleasant, but nothing more I think.

The script and Ben Tedds' original entry submission are now in accounts.

Just found this interview with Ben Tedds. Worth the read! And here's a brilliant highlight in which Ben discusses a distinctive way of receiving feedback. How about that for anthology submissions, @wolfie53?

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

How about that for anthology submissions, @wolfie53 ? That’s real professionalism on the part of Alfie, right there. A good editor will highlight and suggest, which helps the writer grow. A lot of people forget that an editor is first and foremost a person who wants something to succeed.
