Yes!!! Gef the Talking Mongoose! And what a mouthy sod Gef was. Makes you wonder which Doctor would best suit meeting Mr Price. On gut instinct I would go for the Fifth Doctor myself.

My mom was a big fan. She had a first addition of his casebook. I was obsessed with Gef. Such a spooky tale. I always tried imagining his voice. Harry Price as a companion! Make it happen!

Writer Fran Lebowitz, with one of the grumpier Doctors, perhaps one, six, or 12. Would be hilarious to see her and the Doctor be grumpy together. She’s still alive so they could even have her play herself!

Roald Dahl...
The idea of Sixie or Seven meeting the author would be quite fun. Especially with some of the darker stories as well...
Possibly, the Second Doctor could have been an inspiration for Willy Wonka as well - especially as the often overlooked Great Glass Elevator ends up as a sort of science fiction novel. Could that be Dahl's imaginings of a TARDIS?

Diogenes en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DiogenesA Greek philosopher and one of the founders of the Cynic philosophy. Would make for a nice contrast to one of the more optimistic incarnations of the Doctor.

Written an historical figure story recently. Not been mentioned in this thread (though a few come close). Hello Fritz Lang.

Klaus Störtebecker (the German Robin Hood). Because we do not have enough pirate stories which take the material serious and do not devolve into "Har, har, bottle of rum, my cousin is Jack Sparrow". Failing that, Ned Kelly. Because, well, such is life.
Edit- can you sense a theme here?

A nice little adventure on the trains with a young boy who would later grow up to become Reverend W. Awdry.

William Castle en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_CastleI don’t think he is the sort of historical figure who you could craft an entire tale around but I think he’d be a fun one to have involved in an adventure. Could easily see him be impressed by the TARDIS’s gimmicks.

It occurs to me that the premise of this thread is simply "historical figures you'd like to see," not necessarily NEW historical figures... so, could we please get one more story with David Warner's insane Isaac Newton?
