I've read some people say some of the stories in the Unbound range could actually be set in the Doctor's past lives now. I have only heard the first Warner one and Exile (I know), so to those who've heard more, which ones would fit the bill? Thank you!

With the best will in the world the only ones that aren't immediately discounted are "Deadline" and "Full Fathom Five", and then "Deadline" is discarded given the entire concept of the piece and "Full Fathom Five" is discarded because it very definitely is A Doctor variant who has worked with the Earth's governments for ages and would be in their files as such.

Well, thank you. That sounds like a pretty definitive answer and one I was deep down expecting. I was just curious as to whether there was any possibility. I'm very much okay with Unbound being its own thing.

Auld Mortality / A Storm of Angels This is literally just what if the First Doctor stayed on Gallifrey for a few centuries longer and left with an older Susan. So it’s very explicitly an alt-Hartnell.
Sympathy for the Devil / Masters of War Again I’m sure we all know, but this is just alt-Pertwee and the timeline splits off from the War Games.
Full Fathom Five This is basically a Doctor that has spent several regenerations on earth working for the government, has an adopted daughter and very probably dies permanently at the end. He’s also pretty dodgy tbf. What if the end justified the means.
He Jests at Scars... This is literally just a timeline where the Valeyard won in Trial of a Time Lord.
Deadline Set in a universe where Doctor Who was just a failed pilot episode written by Derek Jacobi.
Exile Another one that splits off from The War Games. The Doctor becomes a woman to escape Trial by the Time Lords. Although in this universe Nick Briggs is the previous Doctor rather than Troughton.

Hello again. I think Unbound was a fascinating idea if not always successfully realised. I have the Geoffrey Bayldon stories to listen to. The David Warner stories are really good, I thoroughly enjoyed them. The setting of the first one in Hong Kong is very effective and I love David Tennant's sarcastic world-weary officer. Nicholas Courtney is a wonderful bonus. Deadline is so depressing, it's a clever idea and well-told but really made me sad. Exile on the other hand did make me chuckle. Arabella Weir's chaotic, sweary, drunkard Doctor was for me curiously engaging. To have a Doctor become so dissolute because she has to hide from the Timelords made for something completely different. The only thing I found completely objectionable was the reason the Doctor became female to escape trial. Unbound is a limited premise perhaps, but over at the Divergent Wordsmiths we've had fun with it in the Unbound Imaginings anthology. So much so, we're having another go at creating some more tangential stories featuring alternative imaginings of the Doctor. See Divergent Wordsmiths thread in the Writer's section of Community if you fancy a go at writing a story. divergent-wordsmiths.weebly.com/stories.html

Coincidentally the other day I came across the Divergent Wordsmiths board after a lot of time of not visiting it and an rough idea for a story I'd like to tell came to me when I was in the Unbound Imaginings II thread. Hopefully I have the time to write it and contribute to the anthology.

Hello again.
All the best with your story idea Xlozdob. It would be great to have you contribute to the anthology. Best wishes and happy writing.
