I'm surprised that the BBC haven't made their original to audio stories starring Jodie's Doctor. Or did they fly past my radar?

It seemed like they just started doing Past Doctors after the last Capaldi releases. At first we assumed that was as a bridge between Capaldi and Whitaker, but then... nothing. No trilogy of novels in 2019 or 2020 either, just At Childhood's End.

Maybe the steam has just gone out of the market?
The books peaked w 10 and then dropped off - fewer for 11 and fewer still for 12.
The original BBC audios peaked w 11 and dropped off. That said, I’m surprised that there is nothing after 2 seasons. Maybe it’s a Chibnal thing?

Don't think so, as I can't imagine Chibbs really being that bothered - I think the reason is more likely 1) the stuff not selling like it used to and 2) there has been a shift away from kids in DW books over the last two years, and leaning much harder on older readers - the novelisations, the short story collections, even Childhood's End not really being marketed for kids.

Um... There's been more DW content for the kiddies with 13 than I think there has been for a long time. There's Secret in Vault 13, Maze of Doom, Dr Thirteen (from the Mr Men series) and The Runaway TARDIS. And that's just the ones mainly marketed for children. Sure, it's only four, but in comparison it's proportionately more than in previous tenures.

Though as you say, it's proportional - still a fraction of what Tennant and even, for a time, Smith had.

Given the uncertainty of lockdown conditions and the impact on television production for the time being, it seems like a great opportunity to produce a 13th Doctor audio story for broadcast.
