Like my previous post regarding the 12th Doctor, what should spin off next from the 8th Doctor?
I'd still love to see his companions from the novels back, there is so much gold there.

I always felt that the logical step for the Eighth Doctor would be to have his companions appear in a release of the Comic Strip or Novel Adaptations.
Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen any time soon.

Eighth Doctor comic adaptations would be crazy popular.
I hate that the adaptations just don’t seem to sell.

I haven't read the comics, but have read (and thoroughly enjoyed) most of the BBC EDA novels (Fitz is probably my favourite companion) so if BF ever decided to do stories with Sam, Fitz, Anji etc I'd be first in line to pre-order (...though I buy all of the 8th Doctor stories anyway ) there's definitely room to tell more stories with those characters, even without adapting the novels (though if BF did adapt any of the EDA novels or comics I'd definitely buy them) I thought The Company Of Friends was great fun, and I liked that it wasn't bogged down with long running arcs or a need to tell an epic story, just four standalone stories with some of the Doctors old companions. That's not to say I haven't enjoyed the 8th Doctor boxsets (Dark Eyes, Doom Coalition and Ravenous were all hugely enjoyable, and Stranded is off to a great start) and the ongoing storylines, just feel it might be fun to dip into the 8th Doctor's past now and again (I haven't listened to the further Adventures of Lucie miller boxset yet). Maybe BF could use The Company Of Friends as a subtitle for an occasional boxset range with some of his old companions (e.g 2x1 hour stories with Fitz, 1 with Tamsin, 1 with Mary or 2 Samson and Gemma and 2 Izzy stories etc)? They could even drop a few story hints/recurring characters into the backdrop which could then be expanded on/tied in with the 'present day' boxsets with Liv/Helen/Tania etc, or the Time War. In terms of doing a spin-off from the 8th Doctor audios, hmm...not sure what BF could do?, maybe do some 7th Doctor stories with the 11/Padrac as a prequel arc to Doom Coalition, or send one of the side characters (e.g. Benny or The War Master) on a quest to the Divergent Universe...

And if the rights were ever sorted out, reuniting the 8th Doctor with Grace and Chang Lee for some stories would be great fun, maybe a 'Phillip Seagal presents' range (not sure if there were any storylines/scripts developed enough for a 8th Doctor 'Lost stories' range)

I don't think the rights for Grace and Chang Lee are ever going to be sorted out, sadly. By all accounts there is an enormous amount of red tape there and the time and money it would take to untangle it all, even if Universal were interested, makes it unfeasible.

I mean pretty much the entirety of the Izzy/Destrii body swap arc is worth adapting, along with the subsequent stories with Destrii as a companion. I’d also like to see Endgame and some of the Fey stories like Tooth and Claw adapted.
I honestly wonder if they made a mistake in thinking that because it’s Tom Baker, those comic adaptations would’ve sold. Because people can get hold of Tom Baker content easily and he’s got loads of 4DAs anyway so it’s just a quirky side-strand that doesn’t really fit the same tone as the other stuff. Whereas the Eighth Doctor obviously doesn’t have a tv era and of his comic run was adapted, I could see it being seen as more desirable because it’s another chapter of the Eighth Doctor’s life unlocked in the audio medium.

I haven't read the comics, Well, if you ever have some money to spare, do yourself a favour and get these comics. I held back for a long time because I thought it would be just some very basic kiddie friendly stories. I am a bit tired of dumped down simplified stories.
I was wrong. I agree that the quality of the art varies, but the stories are amazing and we get one of the most amazing villains/ companions ever created. Destrii.
We see violence, horror, and the Doctor going through a whole range of emotions, ranging from despair to joy to unstoppable rage.
Seeing Eight going on a vengeful raging crusade is a sight to behold.
He gets pretty scary.
This is where the quote comes from "I am not scared of monsters. The monsters are scared of me!"

Destrii in particular is such a vivid character that you can literally hear her voice as you read, at least in my opinion anyway. Although I imagine some would probably find her annoying as she’s something of Doctor Who’s own Harley Quinn.

Doesn't Disney own them now? Fox and all

Of course there will be people who will dislike her. But she certainly makes for an exciting character and great drama. She certainly does not fit the mold of 20 something contemporary British girl, that‘s for sure.

Well i know its never going to happen but Big Finish Faction Paradox Audios with Laurence Miles and John Dorney would be incredible
More Original Audios with Fitz and Izzy like The Company of Friends maybe even get Sam and Kroton in there
Given Charley has her own boxset series perhaps Lucie could have a series between Death in Pool and Series 4?

It was such a beloved finale for The 8th Doctor's Comic Range even Russel T Davies loves it
