And Reece Shearsmith is involved too - always good to hear. Will this be available to buy afterwards, I wonder?

Neat. Have yet to listen to the M.R. James adaptations they did a while back but this sounds brilliant. Perfect listening for the Halloween season.

Yes, as a fan of Bafflegab's stuff and Children of the Stones this will definitely be worth a listen.

Good succinct review thanks. Identifies the differences to the original without looking for negatives. 'They don't make em like that anymore', mainly because we're in a different era and society, I have to concede.

'They don't make em like that anymore', mainly because we're in a different era and society, I have to concede. That was me reviewing, so thank you. I tried to review it straight, not knowing much about the original other than the headline ideas and it's creepy reputation, but found myself stumped as I wanted to know how it had changed. Luckily, all seven eps of the tv series are easy to locate online!

Just saw this thread. I downloaded the episodes after hearing about it on Tin Dog's podcast. Haven't listened yet though, they're still waiting on my computer to be heard.

Two years later, I finally listened to Children of the Stones. Odd and interesting story. I never saw the original TV show, don't know if that would affect how I received this story in audio form. Though I do understand from IndieMacUser 's review that this version of the story was modified from the original, so perhaps lack of familiarity with the original TV show wouldn't make a difference. Thanks for the informative review! Also, pretty sure this was one of the shows discussed on the now defunct (and missed!) Benji and Nick Show.
