2 Icons Return, there's a potential awkward meet the Ex in Cardiff, how the other half of the Resistance lived, the 3DAs explore more eras, and we take a side step into Sci-Fantasy

It's a quieter month than I thought!
I'll be getting Ravagers, the Third Doctor Adventures and Absent Friends. Intrigued about the return of the Ninth Doctor (and very interested in how Chris will play the role based on the trailer), looking forward to a shakeup in the TARDIS teams for the 3DA and a rare dip into Torchwood for me due to the inclusion of the Tenth Doctor.

This is an everything month, the second in what is almost a year of all releases being bought lol. Most looking forward to Ravagers, the 3DA's and Avalon Volume 1(which sounds stunning)

Without question, it definitely has to be the first volume of the Ninth Doctor Adventures.

The Ravagers, Torchwood's Absent Friends and the latest 3DA.
May seems to be quite a month, with The Ninth Doctor joining the Big Finish ranks, the Tenth joining Torchwood and the first entirely recast Third Doctor Adventure set.

Nothing from the releases this month, but that is normal for me.
But I aim to get a few fairly recent releases:
The Robots 2 Colony of Fear The Grey Man of the Mountain
And possibly: Shadow of the Daleks 1

I've heard that there is a CD coming out with the 9th Doctor or something? I guess I'll give that a listen.

9DA, 3DA, B7 & TW
Getting all the acronyms this month! On CD of course.
As a child of the 70s I am most looking forward to 3DA and B7
Not into Thunderbirds and can't abide Iris so giving them a miss.

Curious about the 9th Doctor and how they are going to use him and how the Doctor works in TW. Otherwise, maybe I get something else if people rave about it here.

A quieter month for me, on the whole. I'm getting the Ninth Doctor Adventures (on vinyl - *fingers crossed* they included the CD version in track form in the download!), Third Doctor Adventures, TW: Absent Friends, and Avalon: Volume 1. Most excited for the Ninth Doctor stuff (obviously ), but I'm also keen to hear the 3DAs going in a new direction. I'm also quite pumped for both the Torchwood and Avalon releases though, so it looks to be a good month all round

Everything except vinyl and Thunderbirds pre-ordered. Most looking forward to the 9DAs (still an absolutely momentous event and thank you Chris Eccleston and Big Finish) but it does look to be a very fun and interesting month in general.

With apologies to all the other exciting releases (and to the Doctor in the leather jacket especially) but it won't come as a surprise that my most anticipated this month is
The Third Doctor Adventures Vol 7
My Doctor! New eras to explore and Jo will be back in Vol 8, two lots of 3DAs this year, so it's all good. Though this is technically a full recast, we know these versions of Three and the Brig. very well so have no doubts on that score (splendid performances, both of them!) And since we're so lucky to have Daisy Ashford and Sadie Miller brilliantly playing their mothers' much-loved characters, for me that lifts this very far above being simply a 'recast' volume. Most anticipated!
(Thanks for the thread Mark.)
And others - of course I will be welcoming a new audio Doctor to BF, Thunderbirds Are GO! and when Ten meets TW, it's surely not to be missed.

It's a quieter month than I thought! Even though I only bought the 5th Doctor stories from the old Monthly range, and we knew this change was coming, it feels so odd now that it's gone, and that we'll probably only get stories with Drs 5-7 for 6 months of the year.
That being said, I completely understand why they have shifted to box sets.
"Great chunks of my past, detaching themselves like melting icebergs", "but times change, and so must I."

I'm not sure, actually. It looks like the model is going to be 3x3-disc sets each year per Doctor, which would mean four 4-part and one 2-part story per Doctor each year, which works out at about one 4-parter per month for 12 months (same as the MR) PLUS three 2-parters each year, just for Doctor's 5-7.

Given that we know the 5th Dr 40th sets are April & September, I'd be surprised if we got another 5th Dr set apart from those.

The announcement of the extra 4DAs next year sort of confirms it. According to David Richardson: There are now going to be nine Fourth Doctor discs released every year, and the 2024 series will be released in three 3-disc sets. In addition, this year, we're having three 3-disc 9DAs and 10DAs (though these are also containing bonus discs). I think it's pretty likely that this will be the format, and with regards to the 5DAs Forty boxsets, I think those are being released in addition to the other 5DAs next year, as I don't think they'd devote 2/3rds of the release schedule to an anniversary release.

Yep. Four releases for me. Ninth Doctor is my most anticipated, but I'm also looking forward to TW, Third Doctor Adventures and Avalon. One a week, I say!
