Here's an idea: maybe it's the 10th Doctor who inadvertently gives the Master the idea to regress to infancy to escape the War. Hmm Cole is an interesting addition. I wonder if this’ll turn out to be in the Master’s mind during his regeneration. Either that or The Sky Man is getting even longer. Who knows, maybe it turns out Cole was the Master's "companion" for a lot longer than it seemed. The more he ****s around in the Time War the more his role in WM 1.4 makes sense, retroactive or not. And also... the WM range has been pretty dang good overall, right? But giving the Master a companion presents a really nice inversion of the typical Doctor Who stories that subsequent boxsets lacked. I think it'd be pretty neat to return to that style, at least for a bit.

Sounds intriguing. I still wonder if my theory of this set being an elaborate dream during his regeneration might come good.

They read like four standalone episodes to me, rather than an ongoing story like in all the previous sets. That’ll be a nice change of pace and a great variety of writers there.

All sounds good to me. Although it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if they all did end up being connected as a part of a larger story.

Cracking trailer. Really looking forward to this and best of all between this, the synopsis and the Vortex article I’m not really sure what to expect! I like the idea of an anthology, but equally given how interconnected the War Master range has been - whether that be with televised stories, overriding arcs or other ranges - it’s hard to say if that is indeed the case. Like grinch, I can’t believe how much I’ve missed the War Master either!

I am quite excited too, especially for The Players because it sounds so amazing, but I admit I haven’t missed The War Master as much as others since I’ve been relistening to the sets for the last month!
If this is a true anthology set, it would be nice if the next is as well. With Dorian confirmed to appear(not sure if I’m convinced Dorian needed to be in a Who), it could be very nice if another four new writers have an hour story each. Though Dorian and War Master might easily be written by Scott Handcock himself.
Finally, I really hope this isnt the end for Jacobi and the range. I know there is a lot of talk of Scott moving onto a script editor role on the TV series with RTD and Gatwa, but I hope he still has time for the range, as I don’t know if it’s possible without him. Jacobi and him have such a rapport from over the years.
But also, Jacobi in a Shakespeare please!
And a story from Tim X Atack, Helen Goldwyn or Rob Valentine please!

Seeing this thread pop up reminded me that I hadn’t pre-ordered it!
That has now been rectified.
Does anyone else feel bad for liking the War Master, especially as I think he is the most truly evil incarnation…

Does anyone else feel bad for liking the War Master, especially as I think he is the most truly evil incarnation… Not at all, it probably does help, however, that Derek Jacobi is a fantastic actor and that I tend to consider his incarnation the revived series equivalent to the Delgado Master.

You're doing God's work, I see. Many thanks.
Anyway.... The Master just randomly appearing on a planet in the middle of some nonsense is the kind of inverted Doctor Who story this range began with and I'm honestly more excited about that than the Tennant crossover. But, man, I am so hyped for this set. So much to look forward to!

i first thought it would be released tomorrow in the UK. It’s a solo release week, can’t wait, etc etc.
but Utopia was released on 16th June, 2007. 🤔 15 years from Thursday…
😑 it’s gonna be Thursday, isn’t it?
