"An epic adventure with the traveling Time Lord, this issue serves as a lead-in to the explosive new story arc that reveals the very early years of the Doctor."
Does this make audios from BF more or less likely?

Neither tbh. BF have different licensing to Titan so Titan using the Fugitive Doctor doesn’t make it any more likely other than letting us know the BBC are okay with the EU touching on this Doctor. But there’s also no reason to believe that Titan using the Fugitive Doctor would stop BF using her too. I mean Titan and BF debuted the War Doctor at roughly the same time. This looks interesting, but I’m a bit concerned as Titan has had a bit of a drop in quality the last few years.

I think this makes a refreshing change to the recent Titan releases because it should give them an opportunity to forge ahead with something new and different. Not multi-Doctor crossovers or a reappearance by Rose.
Will be interesting to see if this has any implication on a reappearance by the Fugitive Doctor or delving any deeper into the Timeless Child in Jodie’s last episode. Titan being allowed to do this would suggest there’s no conflict, which implies no plans from Chibnall and BBC Wales.

This sounds interesting... I'll pick up this FCBD issue.
I've always assumed "Fugitive Doctor" audios will be on the Big Finish agenda at some stage anyway, so hopefully it's something that Jo Martin is also interested in one day.

Aren't there all sorts of other docs in comics/etc? I wouldn't read it as bearing on BF in any way, unless maybe they restart Unbound (or did they lose the ability to make more with the series revival? I mean, we do have David Warner and Benny, of which I immediately demand more)

Titan had the balls to make the War Doctor actually a gun-toting killer so there’s that in their favour.

Yep, the 11th Doctor series (2nd year) is simply stunning. I was blown away. It does get pretty dark and gritty and there is even GORE. I had not expected they would go down that route but I am glad they did. 11 gets really scary and mean in this one, too. Reminded me a lot of scheming no nonsense 7. Highly recommend. As for the fugitive Doctor adventures, I am very much looking forward to them. Already having subscribed to The Who comics, I cannot wait.

Well I guess if Titan is being allowed to touch on why Jo Martin’s Doctor became a fugitive, the end of the Chibnall era has no interest in answering the question onscreen, which is a bit of a disappointment.
I suppose I might actually have to show some real interest in Titan’s output.

The positive side of the show not exploring the Jo Martin Doctor further is that for the first time since the Wilderness Year ended, we have a Doctor who can primarily be defined by novels, comics, and audios. It’s a whole new era to explore… This comic looks great and I can’t wait to read it. Hoping it leads to a bit of a revitalization of the Titan line. I miss their classic Doctor mini-series and their New Series ongoings.

Do we know that this is a series of four and not a one-off (and the Free Comic Book Day issue)? Might have been the way I read the article, but I read it as it being a series of Origins, rather than a Fugitive series specifically. Coincidentally there’s an Origins book coming out later in the year too, with stories from some of the companions prior to them meeting the Doctor.

Just finished issue #1. It walks the fine line between having a “very different Doctor” and “sane contents, different wrapping” Doctor but does it well. She is a loyal Division agent. She doesn’t disrespect the chain of command. She takes orders. BUT importantly, she questions. She’s curious. She still doesn’t like guns, although she couches it in terms of the Ship not liking carrying weapons (and yes, the word TARDIS is used). She doesn’t obey without question. She’s calm, confident and just a little snarky. I like that. She’s a professional, which is probably what should differentiate her from the post-Hartnell Doctors who are proficient but not exactly professional. The plot MAY be linking up with Swarm and his pals (the aliens at the end look like some may be of the same species as Swarm), and as both Flux suggests that that mission was her last for Division and the pitch for the series was “why the Fugitive Doctor became a fugitive” it suggests either a dove-tailing or that Flux happens after she is rhe-recruited by Division. Bonus points in my books for using a Weeping Angel {Spoiler} As a Division agent/operative ally of the Doctor’s. It fits with Division using them during the Flux.
