This is an instant pre-order for me on the strength of Series 11 Vol. 1, which is one of the finest 4DAs in my view. I was hanging on to make sure the story details looked appealing - and they do. And an extra disc of stories too!
I know people have issues with BF's marketing sometimes, but they do seem to have a regular stream of exciting sounding updates. There aren't many weeks when an announcement is being made that threatens to remove all money from my battered bank account.
Anyway, who would have thought than Tom Baker, in his Eighties, would still be leaping around the universe saving us all, all over again? Wonderful. The story that sparks my interest here is Shellshock by Simon Barnard and Paul Morris - what sounds like a blood-curdler by two of BF's always interesting writers.

You know, now that you mention it, I actually do rather like Attack of the Cybermen ...

If I knew this was 5 discs I had forgotten, so this is an extra special bit of good news for me today.

Loved the first Solo set and very much looking forward to these trio of adventures. Incredible to think one of the stories was recorded over 5 years ago!

Ha. Tom has recorded so much, and so far out, that BF is forced to give us more than we paid for just so they can use it all. That may not be the reason at all but I like to think it is.

Really looking forward to this as Series 11 has hit a really good stride a set in. Most looking forward to Dreams of Avarice and Peake Season, but Shellshock should be really good too!

All these stories sound terrific. At a mere glance, I can usually tell which specific story from a story I’m looking forward to the most but not in this case.
I’m also glad they’re carrying on from the end of Relative Time. For some reason, I thought they might have just forgotten about it but clearly that wasn’t the case. In fact, in this age of new ranges it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if this led into a The Nine spin off series with each story involving elaborate cons and heists ala Hustle or Ocean’s Eleven. With the Nine’s regenerative dissonance proving to be his biggest asset and also his greatest weakness. (If only he could get his other selves to stick to the plan!) Wouldn’t necessarily be something I’d want but it wouldn’t surprise me in any case if it ended up happening.
Also, be interesting to see if this is the first time the Doctor has encountered one of The Collective(?) Might only know him by reputation at this point. Then again, I’m sure we’ll have the likes of the First or Second Doctor bump into the Ten or the Fourth down the line sooner or later.

I think it's evident of when BF say that they would be able to cut prices if there wasn't as much piracy. I suspect that the Fourth Doctor range is one of their best-selling ranges, and therefore they can afford to give more for what we pay. £25 for 5 discs of story (including 4 pieces of cover art) is pretty damn good.

I actually prefer the nine to the eleven, so this could be fun.

I’m not so sure. It seems more of a loss leader to get all of the sets in line with the new structure moving forward of three story sets, given how far in advance his range is planned compared to others. It’s great that they’ve done it, but I expect it’ll wind down to three disc sets with one cover and at £19.99 come Series 14. In the same way the Eighth Doctor - presumably another one of their best selling ranges - will follow suit after the release of Stranded.

For some reason, I thought they might have just forgotten about it but clearly that wasn’t the case. Given that Dreams of Avarice was recorded in either 2017 or 2018, it was probably recorded before Relative Time (or at least around the same time).

Have to say it’s so lovely reading the amount of praise Tom Baker has for John Heffernan’s performance as the Nine. They probably have some excellent chemistry together and it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if this led to another rematch with the Nine somewhere down the line.

I’m also glad they’re carrying on from the end of Relative Time
Uh-oh. What with this, and the Mervyn Peake story, I might end up having to buy this.

"Is 'Peake Season' gonna be available separately like 'The Dreams of Avarice' and 'Shellshock'? Cause if not that's kinda a sucky thing to do, making people download a 5-hour boxset if they just want to listen to one of the stories..." - somebody who I guess has never bought a normal box set at Big Finish before? I mean... this is how this works... literally just the 4th Doctor range, and (formerly) the 10th doctor range have ever offered individual stories outside of box set form before... this confuses me... like... it's the normal state of BF box sets... this is stupid, right? I've not lost it, right?
