Currently just began my long awaited relisten of the Sapphire and Steel Big Finish range. Which then promptly got me thinking about this hypothetical.
Say we live in a world where out of nowhere a fourth series of the Big Finish series was recommissioned naturally following on from the events of “Wall of Darkness” and you have been chosen as the creative producer of the range. What would you do? What would be your creative direction going forward?
Personally, if I were in charge I’d have a story where Sapphire and Steel are totally absent and instead we have a story told from the perspective of one of the Transuranic Elements. A story examining just how different they are from the rest of the Operators by acting as almost wildcards and being completely unpredictable. You’d end said story never quite sure where their loyalties lie.
