I thought they were just going to leave us with that terrible cliffhanger. Glad that they are continuing it.

This is something I'm really looking forward to! Remember really enjoying the first series so excited to hear what's next, though a relisten is definitely in order!

Right. Listened through this today. This is a nice atmospheric crime story. Well performed (it is Big Finish, after all), even if most parts are again taken up by the regulars (let us call them the BF "ensemble"). Sound design also works nicely. I liked it better than the previous one, but there were several things I found hard to resist: - old haunted Scottish castles with secret passages and hidden torture chambers - grisly torture and murder - secret societies This time, I could follow the story better (I had some issues last time) and also, this time the villain was less obvious (last time sadly, the person playing the part was a dead giveaway). Very well done. However, I should add, this is quite slow paced- there are hardly any action passages and often, people stand around talking ominously. Some people might find this off-putting. But I think this story is ideal for a cold very foggy dark autumn night.
I should also add- it is not absolutely necessary to remember the last release (I could hardly remember it), after the first few scenes, it is pretty stand-alone and a completely new case.
Recommended.

Great follow up from Series 1 Excellent Performances and plenty of good little twists.
Another example of a Class Act from the Late Great Mr Warner

Well performed (it is Big Finish, after all), even if most parts are again taken up by the regulars (let us call them the BF "ensemble"). Sound design also works nicely. ... This time, I could follow the story better (I had some issues last time) and also, this time the villain was less obvious (last time sadly, the person playing the part was a dead giveaway). The problem with an audio play where actors play multiple parts is that if some actor appears with a different voice you don't know for certain whether it is a character in disguise or whether the actor is playing a different part. It is because of that that I was surprised by the cliffhanger at the end of the first one. Luckily, they did resolve that cliffhanger neatly enough and then moved on. This time it seemed that there were cliffhangers at the end of each part and it all built up to a nice conclusion which made sense of the various questions that were being bounced around. I have not yet heard the BTS and am looking forward to that. One of these days I should listen to the first one again and see whether it all holds up. [Added] Listening to the BTS. Some of the BTS was recorded before David Warner passed, but quite a bit of it was after and is a moving tribute to him.
