The cheapie episode that replaced Stephen Fry's, and tried to take a fantastical bent on the question of child abuse. But how successful was it - after all, according to Graham, this was one popular with kids and he got fan letters from them?

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I think this suffered from being a fairly generic episode when it was surrounded by emotional and storytelling peaks. I don’t mind it. The best part about it is the gag where the TARDIS lands with the door blocked and the Doctor flicks it around 90 degrees, which I can’t believe hadn’t been done before. The worst part about it is that most of it feels like it could be an episode of nearly any paranormal show. It’s capable, decent writing produced well.

I winced and shuddered through it, especially that ending.

Until "Rings" "Rans Kor" "Timeless Children" and (shudder) "T Conundrum", it was my least favourite Newer Era EP.
Now I find it just messy.
The Docs almost too understanding and Rose is too judgemental (considering her(incorrect IMO) position on Eddie in The Idiot's Lateran)
Why have the child whisper it adds nothing,
Cause the Isolis is acting on instinct I'm guessing it couldn't stop chole drawing her "Father" but then later uses its an active defence.
Final Act a gimmick EP has to gimmick.

While the concept behind the episode was good and i can see what they were trying to attempt. It doesnt quite fully come together in the end for me.

It's not great and has issues a plenty but I think it has the odd good idea. For instance, I found the idea of animated children's drawings most effective. Probably because I used to draw quite a bit back in the day and the thought of those warped creations staring at me with such malice filled me with dread.
Mind you, I suppose we can also add the Isolus to the list of inevitable villains to appear in a future Classic Doctors, New Monsters set.
