Concrete hospital TARDIS, Tinfoil aliens who turn into evil Rocketeers and an 'interesting' departure for Leela. Still, one heck of a great opening model shot and, for me anyway, it's at least memorable. But how do you feel about this Gallifrey six parter?

A Raving Doc
A Rakish Chancellor
Castilian Rigsby
A romantic Savage
A rustling diversion
A rough lot of Sontarans
A Romanna Template
A Runaround in the TARDIS
Result a rather Ramshackle affair

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

As a kid I really enjoyed this one. It had an epic, twisty story with the Doctor showing how mysterious he can be, Leela had loads to do and that ending to episode four was amazingly at the time. And I always love discovering more about the TARDIS. As an adult, though, it is quite average and it really does look cheap, especially those last two episodes. And that ending with Leela suddenly declaring that she wanted to stay with Andred (although I’ve said elsewhere that my headcanon is that she only stayed to get a lift back to the P7E and find Herrick). I imagine it looked great on paper and the first couple of episodes are pretty strong… like a lot of six parters it doesn’t feel like it’s got enough staying power.
