The 1933 granddaddy of them all, inspiring generations of filmmakers and artists. But how do you feel about it - a relic, or one that still holds up a near century later?

Still great, though the unabashed racism is pretty uncomfortable.

Still great, though the unabashed racism is pretty uncomfortable. Beyond the tribes, there's also 'him' that's always a surprise in rewatches. Just going along and then whoop, there he is on the ship.

Great film, deserving of the word "classic".

I'll admit, I love the old stop-motion animation they did for the special effects shots back then. It makes me think of being a kid and playing with my various dinosaur toys in a sandbox.

It is very good and much better than silly boring Peter Jackson remake.

The original King Kong is still a great film all these years later. From a time when atmosphere was everything in films... the remakes were okay but nothing beats the 1933 original.
