I'm gonna say... 70%? Though that may be colored by wishful thinking more than I realize. I think it's clear at this point that big multi-Doctor blowout stories are extremely difficult to pull of well, and seldom lead to genuinely compelling stories... The Legacy of Time demonstrated that partitioning smaller groups of characters into discrete stories can work well, and Out of Time demonstrated that more focused crossovers could be successful. Meanwhile we've got the Classic Doctors New Monsters range and Peladon that kinda-sorta manage to scratch that multi-Doctor itch without necessarily being proper multi-Doctor stories (while simultaneously making it easier to expose newer listeners to ranges they may not have otherwise been interested in). Honestly I don't think Big Finish can top Legacy when it comes to doing a whole, "all your toys in one box," thing, so I hope they know better than to try. I think a series of smaller-scale "celebratory" adventures would be easier to make, more appealing to fans, and likely of better quality.Yes, I am thinking along similar lines.... I also think, that several smaller releases will be easier to sell- because it will not be one huge single 60-80 Euro purchase.
People could pick and chose, and save up and buy in several installments.
Might be the way to go in the current economical climate.

I'm not usually one for kneejerk reactions, but logically I don't see how this can be anything more than pointless. At best, the Doctor has his memory of Cass erased (and vice versa, as she doesn't know who he is come Night of the Doctor) and the whole thing ends up being just a bit of audio clickbait. At worst, and this is my fear... the Doctor goes into Night of the Doctor knowing who Cass is. The tragic, heroic final act of sacrificing his life for someone he's only just met because he's the Doctor and it's what he does gets taken away from him. For the first time, I'm genuinely considering giving a release a swerve for fear it'll diminish the TV series. My thoughts exactly. I think BF should listen to Ian Malcom, BF are "so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.”

Tbh I kinda like that Big Finish are playing with fire a bit here. The Eighth Doctor - Time War range has been mostly been very, very safe with how it approached him (aside from the initial twist in Starship, which State of Bliss later sort-of undid anyway), so yeah take some risks. It might be terrible but I’d sooner that than yet more so-so stories.

Honestly I’m not sure what would be considered playing with fire for this range considering how limited big finish can do with the 8th Doctor in the time war

But in reality it is just bland stuff from BF.

It might be terrible but I’d sooner that than yet more so-so stories. This is the problem, the idea of a Time War is amazing. The references to it from RTD were cool. But in reality it is just bland stuff from BF. When it works well we get some truly excellent stories, for example The Neverwhen, Rewind, The War Valeyard, The Starship of Theseus and most of The War Master range. The stories that use time as a weapon or just the all round chaos of a war of time have huge potential but what limits Time War stories is the notion of Timelords Vs Daleks, the Daleks are so single minded that we never get a interesting cast of villians, the Dalek time strategist, the Dalek Emporer and Davros are great but they lack the qualities of villians like those in Game of Thrones. I love the Daleks but what would really make them more interesting on TV and audio is the scheming and politics of a show like Game of Thrones, we can see this in the schemes of the Timelords but it's rather tricky with the psychotic pepper pots. Perhaps a soft reboot of the nature of the Dalek command structure, obviously this would have to begin with TV show, it must be so hard to create original ideas for Dalek stories, the game is rigged for them to simply fly into a rage and repeat "exterminate the Doctor" With 60 years of world building, you can either go stagnant or take those building materials and create something with outside the box style thinking. One of the things I've always loved about Doctor Who is the rampant creativity often taking restrictions and using them to the shows advantage.

As I’ve said before, I think the inherent problem with the Time War is that as an idea, it’s almost impossible to depict satisfactorily as its far too big in scope. What should be a Lovecraftian environment stretched across all of Time and Space ends up more often than not simply resembling the Great War but with murderous cyborgs.
Although it’s one of the reasons I like the War Master range so much. It makes for an excellent playground to let such a character loose in.

My hope is that Eight is just pulled away from the Time Lords and Daleks entirely. He should be off looking for corners of the universe still left standing and keeping away from the War, not making reluctant deals to help the Time Lords and ultimately fulfilling the same role as the War Doctor.

Yes, didn't he say its not his war? Nevermind BF changed that.

Have someone actually accuse him of hypocrisy in how despite all his proclamations of being a conscientious objector, he still seems to be under the thumb of the Time Lords. Maybe even have the Eighth acknowledge that for all his talk, he is a part of the War whether he likes it or not.

We could see 8's decision to become the War Doctor as a kind of punishment for his own actions

So many mixed feelings over this. The 8th Doctor/Time War strand of releases has been such a mixed bag. I simply don’t see the point of the range. It hasn’t pushed the 8th Doctor into new territory and Bliss remains, at least for me, a lower tier companion. At this point I don’t see what her character brings to the series. Anyway, this is very much a wait & see release for me.

I'm a bit mixed on the initial news but I'm willing to wait and see how BF execute it before being critical.

Personally I would have written… And this time a familiar and pivotal character returns… After all she is the woman who killed the Eighth Doctor! Hmm perhaps she is a secret kamikaze agent…Cass being short for Cold Assassin.

I'm curious about where Big Finish will take Cass, but I think I'll wait for more details and reviews here and elsewhere before committing card details to the payscreen. On the plus side, at least we finally have the BF definition of "much loved character"* - two minutes of lines and four and half minutes playing a corpse! 🤔
*No disrespect to Emma whatsoever, but there is some serious "overegging of the pudding" going on there..

Eh, I don't mind "much loved" in the press release. I myself wouldn't say I loved Cass, but I found both the character and the actress very memorable, especially relative to how little time they had to impress. And fandoms sometimes go positively crazy for characters that did even less in their original appearance. (Boba Fett, anyone?)
The decision to bring her back here, though? Rubs me the wrong way. Of course, this is far from the first time BF undercuts the story on screen to wedge in new stories about a certain character (see: 9th Doctor, War Master) or character pairing (see: 5th Doctor and Peri, River Song and all the pre-10th Doctors). But this feels ...worse, somehow. Maybe because Cass and 8th's meeting was such a pivotal event for both of them in-universe, as well as told in a very unique and special episode? Or maybe it's simply, for me, the straw that breaks the camel's back after all the similar canon insertions in the past? I don't know.
I remain cautiously optimistic, as I certainly believe this could be done in a clever, thematic way. Moffat himself added some common history to (younger) Cass and the (older) Doctor in Day of the Doctor novelization in a way that I found inoffensive (if still unnecessary). But if this is just a regular box of adventures, with a mindwipe, erasure from history, or they-only-interacted-via-radio trope tacked on, it won't be worth it.
