Well, we have been waiting for the resolution of that cliffhanger. Hope we get something meaningful, and not just repeat the usual time war tropes. I admit I am by now pretty tired of the Time War, however, the set featuring Davros was great. Hope they can keep up the pace and quality.

Well that is a surprise. Not what I expected at all which is a new feeling for this range.
Notably no Bliss on the cast.

So I'm curious - The info on the set's page lists it as 240 minutes, with two 1-parters and one 2-parter. It's also priced higher than the 3-hour sets. Can we assume then that (at least for now) the 8th Doctor sets are remaining at 4 hours? I'm assuming this includes the interviews after every story, which seems to be the MO now rather than a whole hour-long run of behind-the-secnes after all the stories.

Intriguing that it doesn't seem to carry on from the events of Time War 4, or at least there's no mention of it in the news article. It's a surprise, but one I advocated just last week.
The biggest appeal is that there's no Bliss, which is what my preference would be. I can't say I'm excited about Cass or Alex, but I'm not disappointed either; they both have potential and you'd like to think the use of Cass would lend itself nicely to Time War shenanigans.
It'll be the further details that'll make or break this for me. There's a lot of scope to the Eighth Doctor in the Time War, but it's been scarcely touched upon during his range. There's a reason that the Time War releases outside of his range are the better uses of him and it's because they avoid skirmishes with Daleks. I just love that imagery of the Doctor in that outfit on the brink of the Time War, helping out where he can as it threatens to engulf events he's caught up in, but you just don't get that from his range so far.
The following set not out until April 2024 kills off momentum, however.

"a highly-anticipated return"? Really? She was OK in Night of the Doctor but bringing her back? Usual BF stuff I suppose

Yeah, it's just the original tweet that was deleted. My tweets and David's replies are still up, it must have been a duplicate post

Another XDA gimmick set?
I dunno. Maybe this could wind up being really good, but it's really hard to get excited about this premise. I'd be way more enthused if they just said it was gonna be a solo set... we don't NEED to always have a companion, let alone one we "recognize" from the TV screen.

I'm really excited for this one, Time War 4 was fantastic and it feels to me like this one will tap in to the original intrigue and devastation we all felt for Paul's top notch tragic performance in Night of the Doctor.
I remember reading somewhere that the first few 8DA Time War sets were reworked ideas originally planned for John Hurt's War Doctor, much as I enjoyed those stories the tone felt like it wasn't quite the traumatized pacifist we got in the mini episode.
With some time gone by since the previous sets I think this one will feel much more like the mini episode.

After reading the announcement I have many, so many, questions….I like that in a Time War release!
For the time being I’ll limit myself to one - Has Jake McGann changed his name to Sonny McGann?

Considering how Susan’s War ended, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if it turned out that Cass’s’ restoration and Bliss’s’ supposedly being erased from history were a direct result of actions on her part.
