Seems there was a few years where these were especially concentrated, but BF has done no shortage of sequels to Who TV stories (and for clarity, this is direct sequels, not stories that just feature the same monsters), but what are some of the standouts for you? Do any, perhaps, even surpass their TV forebears?

As much as I like Horns of the Nimon - Seasons of Fear is vastly superior. Lights of Skaro (or whatever the Bradley first Doctor story set on Skaro is called) is better than “The Dead Planet”.

Direct Sequel actually harder to define then it seems.
DW EA After the Daleks. DW Sub Special An Earthly Child 8DAs Lucie Miller, To the Death make a very strong Sequel Arc for Invasion of Earth
If we stretch the definition DW EA Daughter of the Gods is a brilliant adder to Masterplan
I'm fond of The Green Death so I'm fond of both its Sequels

Legend of the Cybermen and The Crooked Man are excellent additions The Mind Robber.
Anti-Genesis in the War Master Range is a delightfully twisted sequel/sidequel to Genesis of the Daleks.
Robophobia continues on from Robots of Death, as well as introducing the brilliant Liv Chenka.
Butcher of Brisbane is a favourite of mine, which manages to be a prequel and a sequel to Talons of Weng-Chiang.

More of a prequel but Spare Parts is a great prequel/sequel to Tenth Planet. As for sequel's proper: Domain of the Voord is a great sequel of the Keys of Marinus. And the Forged in Fire (War Doctor Begins) box set picks up where Night of the Doctor ends. It's a double sequel because the second story revisits elements of Warrior's Gate.

I thought that Secrets of Telos was a wonderful sequel to Tomb of the Cybermen.

The Sara Kingdom Companion Chronicles and Daughter of the Gods retrospectively add a new depth to the tragedy of Master Plan.
