I should have posted this link to the interview earlier. Here it is, hope you like it. This is a really great interview. Congratulations. Interesting the way he talks about no lost stories, recasts or novel adaptations. It's a preference I have a lot of sympathy for, going for something new and unique over imitating something where it is inherently impossible to match the original. But I was struck by the way he talked of 'them' doing and making a success of these things, even when talking about novel adaptations... the first of which, I seem to remember, was directed, produced, and script-edited by a certain... Gary Russell? Actually, when it comes to lost stories, I wouldn't be averse to hearing some of those unused BF scripts he mentioned. And an Ace/Hex/Forge mini-series? Yes please!

Yeah, I really think we lost out on that Forge mini-series. I would have loved that. I guess SJA's gain really was our loss at the time. An interesting side note, but we were chatting after the interview and I asked what he thought of the loss of the Monthly Range and of the boxsets, and he told me that he hasn't listened to a BF Doctor Who story since he left. He didn't want to be asked to comment on them or be influenced when writing his own stories. And yes, he still thinks of himself as a huge Doctor Who fan.

(And not just because it was very good )

(And not just because it was very good ) I'm sure he did. Gary's standard answer when asked about other audios was always that he hadn't listened to them, and I'm going back a long way here to posts on OG (as was) and the old BBC Message Boards... he'd be asked about BBV stories or Death Comes to Time, (etc.) I think that was Gary's polite way of not having to comment directly on whether they was any good, or not!
