I thought this might be a good thread to have, as I noticed some prominent items in the Christmas Radio Times on Talking Pictures TV:
Saturday 23rd - "Murder at the Windmill". For those who don't know, the Windmill was a London theatre famous for two things: one, they worked out a way of presenting strippers when stage nudity was in theory illegal, and in between the nudes they hosted comedians (and anyone who was good enough to get the audience to pay them attention was likely to go on to become famous); second, their motto was "we never closed" as the other theatres had shut their doors during the blitz. Anyway, this film features Jon Pertwee doing the Danny Kaye impersonation that arguably made him famous in the first place.
Sunday 24th - "Christmas Eve with Tom Baker" - Tom Baker attends a Christmas service in the United Reform Church in Eastbourne, with Dickensian overtones
Monday 1st Jan - "The Brothers" begins. Following "the death of road haulage magnate Robert Hammond, the series followed the trials and tribulations of the company and family/families he left behind". We'll have to wait a bit, though, till we get to Colin Baker's hearthrob role as he didn't join till series 4 (and Kate O'Mara not till series 5)

Oh, well, I thought it was an interesting thread to have. TPTV also had a farce starring William Hartnell and Tommy Cooper (!), I saw Nicola Bryant on Blackadder and heard Peter Davison on the Yorkshire Vet, and in a one-off drama John Heffernan played {Spoiler} Sherlock Holmes

Presumably he got the gig especially because of his connections to the practice.
