Interesting that this was recorded in Sept and Dec last year given the announcement that Dudman was retiring as Eleven/Twelve for BF.

Just took a while to get through the pipeline (my fault)! (Edit: But obviously, it's up to Jake if he ever wants to do more!)

I'd dearly love more 12th Doctor from Big Finish with Capaldi.
Jacob is a sensational performer and his 11 is near perfect but his 12 doesn't work for me. I hear the youth in his voice, which takes me away from the drama.
I hope this and the previous set do well, as the 12th Doctor is one of my favourites and more adventures will always be a good thing.

Interesting list of writers particularly with Ben Tedds (former winner of the Paul Spragg Competition) nice to see newer talent being given a shot.

We'll have to see what plans BF have to tell stories with the Eleventh Doctor onwards now Jacob has stepped down, but I don't sense any desire to return to the role any time soon from Peter.

I just hope the mysterious "Quartermaster" turns out to be a new and original villain rather than say another incarnation of the Collective.

I just hope the mysterious "Quartermaster" turns out to be a new and original villain rather than say another incarnation of the Collective. If the Collective is going to start appearing in fractions too, the Doctor has a really big problem...
'I should have known - The Quarter!' 'Wrong again Doctor - I'm the Six-and-Five-Eighths!'

So I enjoyed this, although I feel like I need to revisit the initial River Song set that introduced the Discordia.
I think Jacob Dudman's 12th Doctor has improved tremendously. And there is a confidence in his performance that really carries the set. I really like Bhavnisha Parmer and she had a lot to do here with Keira being so integral to the stories. But after the great chemistry he and Safiyaa Ingar had together, it just feels like there's something missing. These are all new, or relatively new writers to BF, and this feels like training ground for them.
In the BTS the writers and script editor discuss the emotional beats that they are going after, and they kind of work. The problem is that I didn't remember the villians or even Keira enough for it to work for me. So I would recommend listening to the last set before this one. You will get more out of it. But I did enjoy it and it is definitely worth a listen.

This was a fun set. I love the Twelfth Doctor era and any new story set in this era is welcome. I'm sad that Dudman has decided to move on from Big Finish, as I feel like this was his strongest Twelfth Doctor set. There were definitely moments where I forgot this was Dudman and not Capaldi (though my wife, who popped into the room while I was listening, told me she could tell it was an impression right away).
The writing felt right at home for Series 10. Given what happened to Clara and Bill, I totally bought that Kiera might be dead. But I also felt that her faking her death and impersonating her killer impersonating her was not out of place either. It was really fun to see someone pull one over on Twelve. I loved the James Bond riff, but I also loved that they dispensed with it for the middle story of the set. While this was a great sendoff for Dudman as Twelve, in my opinion, Victory of the Doctor was the better sendoff for Dudman overall.
