1903, England, an ancient university and 'the Doctor finds a ghost-hunting ally. One who happens to be the era’s foremost chronicler of things that go bump in the night...'
They've teased us with M.R.Jamesian characters and references several times before - will this time finally be the charm? Will 'The Master' (of the College) finally appear for real?
No clue in the artwork, I think. (The two guest characters are one with futuristic clothes and one with a gasmask, so presumably from the other stories.) I will be watching the cast list like a hawk...

Mind you, it wouldn’t surprise me if this turned out to be a bait and switch and it’s an adventure with Carnacki or something.

I love this Tardis team. Big Finish have crafted a great dynamic and the three leads are always outstanding.

The Eighth Doctor has such a bunch of good companions, it's great to see Liv and Helen back again, but sad there's no Audacity. If Audacity had featured, I'd be sad there was no Liv and Helen. We're spoilt, I tell you, spoilt! This looks great though, and Derek Griffiths and the magnificent Jane Asher are always a pleasure to hear from. Consistently good stories and a nice mix of companions continue to ensure The Eighth Doctor is one of the most anticipated at the moment.

With the quality of recent Eighth Doctor stories being so good - especially Liv and Helen's last two sets! - I'm absolutely looking forward to this! I think the break from this TARDIS team has also done me some good in refreshing my excitement for them as well.

To be honest since this era stopped being the ongoing era of Eight and became the epilogue of Stranded, my enthusiasm has just gone away. I dunno, it just feels like what made this run unique versus other ranges has been put aside for the sake of extending Liv’s run. Might wait on reviews and see, as last year’s Eighth Doctor content was very good.

The last release with Liv and Helen was December 2022 so they had a year off (though to be fair Liv did appear in Once and Future) so i can kinda see why they would have this TARDIS team back but it does feel kinda too soon as surely listeners would have audio fatigue with Liv by now (i know i certainly do) i just think they need to do a fresh start with "Dark Eyes" 8 i mean i know we had Audacity which Big Finish ended up pairing up with Charley which is kinda a mixed bag in itself
guess we will have to see what 2025 will bring

While I'd love for big finish to finally start a brand new era for 8 (post Liv and Helen) I also really don't want them to go. Liv is easily my favourite big finish original and I've loved the stories she's been in, especially the Robots series.

I am hopeful that we will be getting the start of a new sixteen-part epic with the Eighth Doctor soon.
His next Time War set is called Uncharted 1.
If that is the start of multiple box sets in the vein of Dark Eyes, it makes perfect sense for him to get one off sets with past companions in between those.
I love the title and seeing that 1 at the end got me even more excited. However, I am trying not to fantasise about what it could be about, I made that mistake with Stranded.
But this time it will be different. This time I have already pre-ordered!

Perhaps the one in December will feature Audacity and Charley again.

Rafe Wallbank did those two covers and it was his idea to have them match up to one picture, whereas this new cover is by Sean Longmore so I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Yeah, the two Audacity boxes didn’t match up so I imagine it was a one off.
We’ve had a decade of Liv and Helen now, which has to be the longest anyone has been a ‘current’ companion. I like them a lot, but a change would also be fine. Maybe some Eight and Helen together for something different, at least.
