Still need to get round to the first set, but this sounds good. Nice writing lineup, I like the idea of Vastra leaning into past cases. The article seems to very specifically mention the Doctor and Vastra interacting, not Jenny & Strax. I do like the idea of different incarnations first meeting different members of the Paternoster Gang, so hoping this leans into that.

Well, this was a fun one. I loved the use of the Doctor in Anne of a Thousand Lightyears. He didn't overshadow the gang and fit well into the story being told. Four is the perfect Doctor for a comedic side character. Pater Noster was a great Vastra story. The connection the villain had to to her backstory was a nice touch. The Gentlemen Thieves was the best Strax story I've heard. It was great for him to actually have an emotional stake in the story. The framing story was a mixed bag. {Spoiler about the framing story/cliffhanger} It kept Vastra from holding the idiot ball, as it allowed for the set to have three stories all set in flashback rather than Vastra not figuring out Jenny had been replaced for a long time. And it did build up to an excellent cliffhanger. However, it didn't really contribute to the story otherwise. {Spoiler about crossover potential?} I found the Torchwood reference intriguing. I wonder whether it's a one-off or whether there may be an appearance of Victorian Era Torchwood or Queen Victoria herself. Heck, I'd bet on a Jack Harkness appearance if Barrowman weren't persona non grata with Big Finish/the BBC. Overall, a fun boxset. Nothing mind-blowing, but three solid funny stories.
