On the latest Collinsport Historical Society podcast, Joseph Lidster, David Darlington and Rob Morris revealed some very interesting details about the forthcoming Big Finish Dark Shadows releases for 2016.

They revealed scarcely any details about Bloodline. However, some interesting news emerged of Big Finish's official DS 50th anniversary release. Spoilers ahead!
The official title of the celebratory release is: Blood and Fire.
It's written by Roy Gill, and will feature "everyone" in it, but not playing their associated characters. I take this to mean that Big Finish will be using their regular cast of Dark Shadows actors (presumably 'old' and 'new') to portray the characters in what I assume is a full-cast release.
Most interesting of all though, Blood and Fire will be set in 1767, and centre on a wedding. Having since searched on Dark Shadows Wiki (because I'm a cheater), I know understand why that year is significant. I can infer from the title whose wedding it will be, which bodes well for the return of a classic character I have wanted to see return for some time.
Thoughts?

I was so delighted when I heard the news! Hopefully some nice fleshing out of a minor plot point to tie a few characters together. I just remember the fantastic job done with The Haunted Refrain and can't wait to see what they will do in 2-hours with a full cast taking on new roles. I just remember how wonderfully Big Finish did with The Crimson Pearl for the 45th anniversary. Over the last five years, the audios have really found their strength and built so wonderfully on each other and the overall Dark Shadows mythology. I'm sure Blood and Fire will be fantastic.

Thoughts? The premise sounds like the setup of 1795, with Angelique the star of those early episodes set during Barnabas & Josette's pending marriage. I suspect this time that Angelique is meddling with wedding plans of Joshua Collins & Naomi (remember in early 1967 Mrs. Johnson talked about a family legend that Naomi got jewels from a pirate, hence the mention of a pirate in the description for this drama). Barnabas would not be born yet, and I guess neither would his uncle Jeremiah. But something about the word "fire" in the title makes me wonder if it also has to do with Laura Collins. Perhaps the phoenix is on the scene a generation before the time she married Jeremiah and young Barnabas lusted after her. Have you not read the blurb?
