The Sontarans
A good introductory story for the Sontarans all in all. The focus on warfare and honour is especially fitting for the timeline placement, in the middle of the Doctor’s personal war against the Daleks in The Daleks’ Master Plan. Purves’ take on the Doctor works really well too, which helps the story greatly.

EA 6.2 Daughter of the Gods
For obvious reasons I scheduled this one for 'Doctor Who Day' yesterday and what a wonderful celebration it was. Drama, Dalek menace, Who history/continuity, humour and of course great characters and actors, it's got the lot. Brilliant story for all fans of those unforgettable early years.

Excelis Dawns. This is basically 90mins of Iris and the Doctor bickering with each other. Quite fun. Even got some emotional and serious scenes in. Not bad at all.

The Black Hole
A good debut for Hound’s character and some neat links to elsewhere in continuity. Victoria gets some good moments too.

TW 12 - Made You Look
Excellent and ultra-creepy 'ghost stalker' story, perfect atmospheric setting of a seaside town in winter. Eve Myles excellent in a(nother) Guy Adams classic.
{Spoiler} From one M.R.James fan to another, thank you Guy Adams for giving Mrs. Rhodes' guesthouse the address/name 'Number 13. Barchester Rest'. Fun 'Easter egg' (Not one but two James ghost stories referenced there.)

Scavenger - finally finished this after first trying a good few years ago. It still doesn't do much for me and gets a low 6 out of 10, redeemed only by Colin Baker's good form.

Now on to Unregenerate! which, despite a slightly over-the-top first half bonkers performance from Sylvester, is pretty good overall.
Kudos to a certain Ian Potter for the music and atmospherics which adds to the slightly creepy, weird atmosphere. 7 out of 10.
Will try and get a 3rd story in around bed time, oh the joy of hotel living.

Starting off my "Christmas with the Doctor" playlist with The One Doctor. Lots of nice little gags I'd forgotten about in episode one. It's a good example of a self-parody that avoids being too distractingly meta.

Yago and Litefoot series 10. The first 2 stories were delightful. Hope the other 2 continue the trend. Also doing a re-listen to the Lucie Miller box set. Giving it another chance. However, I still think this is not up there in story quality with the other 8th Doctor box sets. Yes, it is basically the same average as the other 8DAs featuring Lucie Miller are... but that is just it. Good average.

EA 6.1 The Home Guard
Very good story with several character twists and the TARDIS crew in great form as usual, all four of them thanks to Frazer's super performance of Patrick Troughton's Doctor as always.
I seriously hope this isn't the last we hear from Elliot Chapman in these stories; he does justice to Michael Craze's very likeable Ben who deserved a much longer run in the show than he was given, back in the 60s. I'd be very sorry to see the breakup of the excellent team who have expanded late-season 3 & season 4 across the CCs and EAs in recent years, with consistently high quality stories and performances. More, please!

The Next LifeA bloated finale which does a relatively good job of tying up the loose ends of the Divergent Universe arc. This story really feels in need of editing. Why do the dream sequences need to be 40 minutes long? Why do we need so many scenes of Charley and Perfection bickering? Why does this story need to be 3 hours long? {Spoiler} The grand finale of the Divergent Universe arc sees the villains deal with each other whilst the Doctor and co stand and watch, and then the crew has a massively unnecessary and angsty argument. How fitting.
