Big Finish is pleased to be represented by Matthew Waterhouse, David Darlington and Robert Dick, who will be attending with copies of Big Finish's 50th Anniversary releases Dark Shadows: Blood & Fire and Dark Shadows: Echoes of the Past.
Congrats at being there "officially" Cheers Tony As long as I don't get sent for the lunches.

I'm really glad to hear about all the people who are getting to attend, that is fantastic! Pretty sure I won't be going but I will spend the rest of my life kicking myself for missing it.

Wonderful does this mean there will be big finish available to purchase? Also glad i packed bloodlust to be signed Suggestion for people who like to get autographs on their BF audios--just pack the liner notes, and leave the CDs and jewel cases at home. No cracking, lighter bag weight, etc. Unless of course it's the actual disk or case that you want signed!

Wonderful does this mean there will be big finish available to purchase? Also glad i packed bloodlust to be signed There's always Big Finish to purchase. For some reason, many DS Fest attendees don't seem to be online, and are unaware of just what is out there for DS product. Even the organizers themselves really need to get more internet-savvy. They still require printed registration forms and personal checks for reg fees! At any rate, my point is that many of these attendees know nothing about what BF has done for DS...or, they've heard vaguely about it, but unless they see them in a brick & mortar store, they're not likely to get them. So, many attendees rely on the Fests to purchase the Audios. I always talk them up and spread the word and am happy to have introduced many people to BF for the first time. I see a lot of attendees stocking up with MANY CDs! LOVE to see people who buy them by the sack-full.

I noticed it felt strange to send a check in the mail very retro. Well i for one will certainly be celebrating it. After all big finish got me into the show only frustrating thing was i purchased blood and fire online so i wont have it here. My bloodlust sleeves will have to do.. Speaking of shopping, who's been to one and is the much to splurge on

If it had been a few mouse-clicks to register, pay and get confirmed you'd probably see me there! Which is probably best for my wallet, but hey...

Yes, the registration is a nuisance. Everything from subscriptions to Shadowgram newsletters on down is old fashioned and probably keeps news & attendance down. But I did it and will be there. Glad to hear that BF will be well represented. Wish Collinsport darlings Stephanie Ellyne & Alexandra Donnachie could attend as well. Actually, all the Fests have been sell-outs (as least as long as I've been attending -- 7 or 8 years.) They are actually a bit too crowded for my taste, with program, vendor, and luncheon rooms always being at capacity! So, I agree that everything needs to be brought up to 2016, but I haven't experienced that it's had any negative impact on attendance. They sell out anyway.

A lot of American fans are possessive of the show and perhaps somewhat put off that Big Finish has taken over "our" show. They have yet to realize the merits of the Big Finish continuation. It's very understandable for people to feel protective of Dark Shadows being it's such a treasure - I even did when first very cautiously approaching the Big Finish audios - but I always hope people don't allow that to get between them and many truly fine Dark Shadows performances on audio from no less than *13* of the 15 classic series stars whose names are proudly displayed on the festival bill, as well as Matthew Waterhouse who is now truly a genuine Dark Shadows star and soon to be author as well. I am SO incredibly glad to not be allowing myself to miss out on Dark Shadows as an ongoing event at Big Finish, particularly after the lengths everyone has gone to to make happy fans. If yours is one of the raised hands picked at a Q&A with a Dark Shadows celebrity, be sure to ask if they've done any Dark Shadows work recently and how they're liking it (he hinted diabolically). :-) (If anything should occasionally happen to sound slightly British, a couple of inexpensive Dorian Gray audios would likely fix that right up, and who around here can resist stories about a handsome and spirited albeit wayward lad with an enchanted painting in his attic?)

What the hell??? Big Finish now reduced to a 15 minute time slot? That's just not right, considering that the Audios are our ONLY continuation of the series! Dark Shadows Fest people...please give Big Finish at LEAST the original 1/2 hour slot. When I think of how respectful BF has been of the original series, cast and fans, this makes me a little--no, a lot--disappointed.
Less Collinsport Players and more BF!

They might as well run House of Shadows closer to midnight on Saturday as with Doctor Mabuse on Friday night or something, instead of spending less time on Big Finish audios. It should be hugely important to any and all DS fans (it is to me at least) that DARK SHADOWS LIVES!!!

And where is the announcement of the names? People would be thrilled to hear who was coming! And as I'm sure there are many Dark Shadows fans who are also Doctor Who fans, it would have been exciting news for attendees that Adric is going to be there! What a missed opportunity! I will be expressing my disappointment to Jim and Marcy, succinctly and politely of course (in person and in writing). When you feel strongly about something, I've found that it's never in anyone's best interest to confront with negativity or anger. A politely worded, positive spin can make the point much better, and is the best chance of righting a wrong.

I wonder if 'Lost and Found: Surprise' might be some of the rediscovered 'Night of Dark Shadows' footage. Mainly because I can't think what else was lost, apart from that one episode they reconstructed from audio and stills. Will be particularly interested to hear what this actually turns out to be. The earlier 'Lost and Found: The House' also intrigues me, as this is clearly Art Wallace's original one-off tv drama that formed the basis for much of DS's early storylines and set up.
There does seem to be some last minute reshuffling, as Chris Pennock was surprised yesterday to discover he wasn't doing one of his regular readings of his comic stories on Sunday as he'd expected. He now seems to be doing it on Saturday night, so I suspect there's still adjustments being made.
The paltry 15 minute slot for Big Finish does seem a little short-sighted, given how large a part BF have played and continue to play in keeping Dark Shadows alive.
